This ancient temple is located in Yixian County, Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province. Founded in Liao Dynasty, it is called Xianxi Temple. Because there are seven Buddha statues enshrined in it, it is also called the Big Buddha Temple.
Legend has it that the seven giant buddhas were incarnated by seven women. These seven beautiful women were hardworking and brave in the village at that time. They always help those in need and bring happiness to the local people. The local villagers call them the seven fairies.
The Jade Emperor was very moved when he learned about the deeds of these seven beautiful women, so he sent messengers to make them Buddha. At noon the next day, the sky suddenly lit up, and all seven people became Buddha statues, which were enshrined in the Hall of the Great Hero.
These seven giant buddhas are more than 9 meters high and sit on Mount Sumeru. Historical records are left over from the Liao Dynasty and have a history of thousands of years. They are well preserved, including seven Buddha statues that we can still see today.
Later, during the Huaihai Campaign, shells were everywhere. Coincidentally, the shells actually fell into the hands of the Buddha in this Buddhist temple. At that time, people were frightened and fled quickly. But after waiting for a long time, the shell was quietly left in the Buddha's hand and did not explode.
This "strange" phenomenon was considered by the people in the temple at that time as a manifestation of the Buddha, who was blessing them, and they all went forward and knelt down to thank them.
With this magical event, the incense in the temple is more vigorous. People think that the Buddha statues in this temple are spiritual, and they will protect people's health and safety.
