There are many temples in the ancient town. The first Buddhist temple in Shijiawan, Zhangye Temple and Dishuiyan in Kanxia; Jia's Guanyin Pavilion; There are Yu Palace and Baoqing Temple on Zhengzhen Street. Guandi Temple in Hejie; Longwang Temple on the north side of the town; Even Taipingpu and Yejiashan streets have their own temples. Along the west bank of the Yangtze River, there is also the so-called "eternal life to the crane, copper piles to the Polo". It refers to Yongshou Temple, a famous temple in Bichuni, which is located on the west bank, opposite to the Taoist temple Baihe Temple on the east bank of the river and Tongren Temple and Boluo Temple on both sides of the river. From a long time ago, the exquisite and vivid carving was the first to promote the rock carving of a thousand buddhas in the Song Dynasty standing on the east coast. The giant Buddha in this temple has a towering giant Buddha, Luohan, which is nearly ten meters high, standing on the first floor and reaching the top of the third floor. The small Buddha has a semi-embossed Luohan, which is less than three inches high, and is finely carved on the stone wall on the third floor. A statue of Buddha is serene, kind and lifelike, with a legacy of five dynasties and five sculptures. As far as exquisite architecture, magnificent momentum and vivid and beautiful Buddha statues are concerned, it should belong to Yongshou Temple built in the Ming Dynasty.
Half a block away, crossing Jialing River from Kanxia Ferry of Longwangye Temple in the north of the town, there is a Sichuan main temple dedicated to Li Bing and his son. A few miles south of the Yangtze River, with dense forests and painted buildings with red walls and blue tiles, is the famous temple Yongshou Temple. There is a large black lacquer plaque on the gate of Dashan, and the three bronzing characters of Yongshou Temple are vigorous and powerful. There is a white stone pagoda in front of the door, and there is a stone gate at the entrance of the tunnel under the pagoda. As usual, the entrance to the mountain gate is the Temple of the King, with four heavenly kings sitting on both sides. Facing Maitreya Temple, Maitreya Buddha, who always smiles, smiles with crooked eyebrows and welcomes good men and women from all directions to become attached. Returning to the back means that Wei Tuo, the protector, stands tall in the Buddhist shrine. Sakyamuni is kind and solemn in the Hall of the Great Hero, and the eighteen arhats on both sides have different postures and are lifelike. The most beautiful statue is Guanyin, rich and beautiful. The avalokitesvara bodhisattva with thousands of hands and eyes in the last temple is also elegant, but it is a little more dignified than the avalokitesvara bodhisattva in Cihang Purdue. People think that this temple should be in the Buddhist style of the Tang Dynasty. Because women in the Tang Dynasty were plump and beautiful, Emperor Wu Zetian in Huangze 'an, Guangyuan, and the pictures of ladies in the Tang Dynasty handed down from generation to generation can prove this. However, the purlin carved on the main beam of the main hall of Yongshou Temple is indeed the year number of the Ming Dynasty. I think a more reasonable explanation is that Yongshou Temple was built before the Ming Dynasty, or was rebuilt in the Ming Dynasty because it was destroyed by soldiers or burned by mountain fires. Of course, this is only the author's speculation.
Strangely, a smooth stone in front of Guanyin Bodhisattva in the back hall gives off a drumming fantasy, and the bottom is obviously empty. It is said that the tunnel under the white pagoda in front of the temple leads directly to the temple. According to the old people living around the Buddhist temple, there used to be many busybodies, holding torches, opening tunnels to explore inside, saying that there were several stone gates and many bedrooms with stone tables and benches, which were quite clean and dry. However, after marching through several stone gates, the torch may be extinguished due to poor air circulation, scaring everyone to flee quickly. After that, no one dared to enter. Perhaps because of this, some dancers at that time, such as Jiang and others, Zeng Jianyan said that Yongshou Temple used to be a big Zen forest, and its gate hall was the main temple in Sichuan next to the ferry, winding south along the mountain, and the existing Yongshou Temple was also the back temple, which was the famous Honglian Temple. That tunnel is a secret organ for evil monks to do evil in the temple. Since the burning of the Red Lotus Temple, only the first temple is left, and the later temple will last forever. Later, he became a serious Buddhist temple of the abbot of Bichuni. When I was a child, out of curiosity, I asked my friends to go south along the back mountain of the main temple in Sichuan. I also tried to find the remains of "fire" along the way, but of course I failed. Ask your parents, they will call it "nonsense".
This Buddhist temple is rigorous in structure, generous and solemn. A row of Buddhist temples on the central axis. The left compartment is the kitchen, and there is a small meditation room in the tofu shop; There are several entrances in the right compartment, namely, Qunni meditation room, guest room, living room, and then the abbot meditation room. Because she is a female nun, she is knowledgeable. There are flowers and trees in the yard, and the vines are full of flowers. It's really birds and flowers, and the windows are bright and clean. Accompanied by the sound of reading, it is particularly pleasing to the eye. It turns out that the abbot of the temple is a monk. I only know that her layman's surname is Tang, and people call her the Great Monk. She has been the abbot of this temple for decades. There was an apprentice who was the abbot and elder of Shangqing Temple in Chongqing. Among the elders and disciples in the air, there was a master Chang Fa who was with the great monk of Yongshou Temple. It is said that Master Chang Fa has a good family and is an ordinary graduate. He became a monk because he was dissatisfied with the feudal marriage arranged by his family. She can write and draw, and the calligraphy and painting in the living room and meditation room in the temple are all from her hands. Because the great monk is highly respected, no one dares to find fault in the temple. Because, it is said that even the great-grandfather of the Kuomintang Wusheng County, such as the last county magistrate Zhang Hongding, came from the central town to visit the great monk of Yongshou Temple. At that time, more than ten miles around the temple, mostly producing farmland for the temple. In order to make tenants' children literate, with the approval of the monk, Master Chang Fa set up a free school in the right flower hall of the temple to teach farm children to read and write for free. This is also an advantage.
This temple is full of good deeds. Some of the disciples accepted by Master Chang Fa were persecuted by evil forces (for example, some were maids who didn't want their master to give them as "gifts" to the Kuomintang elders as aunts), and some were baby girls abandoned by their parents because of poverty, all of whom were taken in and protected by the big monk. I know Master Ji Liang and Master Ding. Master Ji Liang is young, beautiful and smart, and he is quite familiar with calligraphy. He is a good helper for Chang Fa's volunteer studies. Master Ding is still young. As he grew up in a temple, his life experience is very poor, introverted and taciturn. He constantly cleans the Buddhist temple every day, burning incense and refueling. The head of the kitchen is a widowed aunt surnamed Jiang. She is a kind middle-aged woman. Treat Kyrgyzstan like your own daughter.
The smoked dried bean curd in Yongshou Temple is a product with the same name as the spiced dried bean curd along the mouth of Zhangjia cake, which is very popular in the mouth. On the first and fifteenth day of the first lunar month, all good men and women gather in ancient temples. Vegetarian food in the temple is also quite famous. It is no exaggeration to say that Yongshou Temple was the most popular temple in Wusheng County at that time, even in the whole country.
