World Badminton Federation Final Rules

Rules of the World Badminton Federation Finals: The competition is divided into two stages: the first stage group round robin and the second stage knockout.

Only the top 8 athletes in each event of the 39-station sub-race of the 2023 BWF World Tour and the individual champion of the 2023 BWF World Championship are eligible to participate. Each event is divided into eight groups. Each group will play round robin first, and the top two in the group will advance to the semi-finals. The semi-final will be redrawn and the final will be decided.

Group round robin stage: 8 athletes (pairs) in each event are divided into group A and group B according to 4 people (pairs) in each group to conduct group single round robin and determine all the rankings in the group. If there are two (paired) players from the same member association in a group, then the first game of the group must be played between the two (paired) players.

Elimination stage: the top two teams in each individual event, Group A and Group B, qualify for the semi-final cross-elimination, that is, the first place in Group A is against the second place in Group B, and the first place in Group B is against the second place in Group A. The winner of the semi-final will enter the finals and decide the champion and runner-up of each individual event.

Badminton rules

Badminton official competition adopts the best of three games system, and each game adopts the scoring system of 265,438+0. Whoever gets the score of 265,438+0 first will win the official competition. If both sides score 20: 20, which side wins 2 points first. If both sides play until 29: 29, which side wins 30 points first.

Before the official start of the badminton match, the referee will determine the party who gives priority to serve through the edge picker, and the party who is determined first has the priority to serve and the right to choose the venue. The edge picker is actually a coin-like object. Its two sides are composed of different patterns, and it can also be directly replaced by coins.

In badminton singles, when the server scores 0 or even, both players need to serve or receive the ball from their respective right service areas, and vice versa. In badminton doubles, if the server scores 0 or base, the ball needs to serve from the server's right service court to the opponent's right service court, and vice versa.
