Author: Li Bai-"Singing under the Moon in the West Building of Jinling City"
content
Jinling night is quiet and cool, and I look at the five mountains from a tall building alone.
White clouds reflect the water and shake the empty city, while white dew drops the autumn moon.
Thinking under the moon for a long time, the eyes are thin since ancient times.
Explaining that "Chengjiang is like practicing" makes people remember Xie Xuanhui for a long time.
Interpretation of poetry
I put a pot of wine among the flowers and poured it myself. I don't have any relatives or friends around me. Raise a glass to the sky, invite the bright moon, reflect on me, and you will become three people. The moon can't appreciate the joy of drinking, and the shadow can only follow me silently. I had to stay with the bright moon for a while, and take advantage of this beautiful scenery to eat, drink and be merry. I sing poetry, the moon lingers with me, dancing and dancing, and the shadow lingers with me. I share my joy with you when I am awake, and I can't find you when I am drunk. Let's forge an eternal friendship and meet in the vast sky tomorrow.

The West Tower of Jinling City, namely "Sun Chuta", was named after the poet Sun Chu of the Western Jin Dynasty came here to climb and chant. The building is located on Fuzhou Mountain in the northwest of Jinling City (see geography). The winding city walls and the vast Yangtze River are the first steps in Chen Qi, making it a scenic spot. In this poem, Li Bai wrote what he saw and felt when he climbed the West Building at night.
"Jinling is quiet and cool at night, looking at the five mountains from the tall building alone." The poet climbed up the west wing alone in the silent night. "Cool breeze" implies that the season is autumn, which echoes the "autumn moon" below. "wuyue" refers to Jiangsu and Zhejiang provinces; Looking at the Five Mountains, point out the purpose of going upstairs. From the words "dead of night", "alone" and "looking at the five mountains from afar", the poet's loneliness, depression and disappointment when climbing the stairs are vaguely revealed. It is in this mood that the poet wrote the scenery in Hope.
"White clouds reflect the water and shake the empty city, and the white dew drops the autumn moon." The first sentence is looking down and the second sentence is looking up. The shadows overlooking the white clouds and the city walls are reflected on the river, and the microwaves are surging, as if the white clouds and the city walls are swaying gently; Looking up at the dew falling in the distance, it is as crystal clear as pearls in the moonlight, as if it were dripping from the moon. Fourteen words describe the special night view of Linjiang ancient city under the autumn moon so vividly! The word "white" is particularly bright in color, showing bright moonlight, hazy sky, crystal dew and clear river water. The word "empty" makes people feel that the night in the ancient city is particularly quiet. The verbs "shake" and "drip" are particularly magical. The city will not "shake", but "cool wind", water shaking and shadow shaking will give you an illusion, and the city will also shake. The moon does not "drop" dew, but is an "independent tall building". Looking at the bright autumn moon, it seems that dew drops from the moon. "Drip" and "shake" make the whole still picture fly, and let many ordinary scenes such as clouds, water, cities, dew and moon show their emotions together, which makes people think and fascinate. This description not only reflects the strangeness of the romantic poet's imagination, but also fully shows his keen feeling and careful observation of nature, so he can capture the main characteristics of the objective scenery, "in a word".
"I haven't returned for a long time under the moon, and my eyes are ancient." The poet stood under the moon and pondered for a long time. What is he thinking hard about? It turned out that he was lamenting that the world was overcast and bosom friends were hard to meet. "Heart to heart" means heart to heart. The word "rare" expresses the poet's depressed mood of incompetence and cynicism all his life. "Ancient" and "eye" are the helpless self-consolation of the poet. It means that not only my immediate confidant is scarce, but also talented and ambitious people since ancient times. Since the "vision" of a bosom friend is "rare", the poet naturally misses the historical figures he admires. Here, the word "eye" is associated with the last couplet, which plays a role of "golden darkness" in structure, suggesting what will be written below.
"Xie Xuanhui explained that' Cheng Jiang Ru Lian' is a long memory." Xie Xuanhui, Xie Cong, a famous poet in Southern Qi Dynasty, was once a local official and a Beijing official, and was framed and imprisoned and died. Li Bai admired Xie Xun all his life because of his fresh and elegant poetic style, aloof personality and misfortune, which is similar to Li Bai's saying that "modern people are integrated with the ancients" (see Xie Gongting). When Xie Xun was expelled from Beijing and left Jinling, he wrote the famous poem "Going to Wangjing Town in Sanshan Late", describing the magnificent scenery of Jinling and expressing his worries about his hometown. "Cheng Jiang Ru Lian" is one of the lines of this poem. He compared the clear river to white silk. Li Bai climbed the West Building at night, and Xie Xun climbed three mountains at night. The situation is equally unfortunate and the mood is equally depressed (Li Bai wrote this poem after being raped, destroyed and left Chang 'an by power). He naturally associated with Xie Xun's "Riverview" and thought of Xie Xun's mood in writing this poem, so he gave a knowing compliment: "Explain that" Xunxun in Chengjiang "means that Xie Xun can sing such a good poem as" Chengjiang Rulian ",which makes me deeply miss him. There is a word in these two sentences, and its subtext is that I am "connected" with Xie Xun's spirit, and I can understand his poems; Today, I wrote this poem with the same feelings as Xie Xun. Who can "explain" and "remember for a long time" It can be seen that Li Bai's "long memory" of Xie Xun is a feeling that he is in a dark world, lacking bosom friends and lonely. This is the meaning of this poem, which is expressed implicitly at the end, echoing the "independence" at the beginning, making people feel how lonely and sad the poet who meditates under the moon is.
This poem is vast and far away, in the sky, underground, in front of us, in the past, floating in the air, suddenly leaving, and unconstrained style. On the surface, it seems that it is vowed and has not been operated; After careful consideration, the context will be clear and the lines will run through. This "line" is the word "sadness". Poets sometimes write their own stories or express their thoughts directly (such as one or two sentences, five or six sentences), sometimes describe objective scenery or praise the ancients (such as three or four sentences, seven or eight sentences), which makes this emotional clue appear and disappear from time to time, like waves, with distinct rhythm and gradually deepening, showing the essence of the poet's conception. In this poem, the choice of words and the change of rhythm are harmonious in color, tone and charm, giving people a feeling of vastness, sadness and depression. This especially highlights the lyric main line in the poem, making the whole poem seamless and more refined.
