What is the European Super Cup?

The European Super Cup is a single-round competition held before each season (about August). Starting from 1972, the European Champions Cup and the European Winners Cup are competing. In 2000, due to the cancellation of the European Cup Winners Cup, the UEFA Cup champion competed for the championship. 1998 was preceded by two rounds of home and away games. The tournament has been held in Monaco every year since 1998. As the opening match of European club events in the new season, the European Super Cup gives the winners of the Champions League and the UEFA Cup a chance to judge. The European Super Cup will be held at the end of August, and the Champions League and UEFA Cup will be drawn. At the same time, various European football awards will be awarded.
