The caged bird is a children's song for Japanese children playing games. When playing games, a child is responsible for being a "ghost" and squatting in the group of children blindfolded. Other children form a circle and sing this nursery rhyme as they turn around. After reading nursery rhymes, if you can guess who is directly behind him, the guessed person will replace the "ghost".
