Dou Eyuan is a famous legend in ancient China. The following is the translation of the original story:

In the Southern Song Dynasty, there was a man who was poor, but smart and beautiful, and married a rich boy named. After marriage, Lu lusted after her beauty, drank too much outside every day and didn't go home. Endure humiliation, diligently do housework, but don't cherish her. On the contrary, she made things difficult and made her wish she was dead.

One day, Lu went out to dinner and got as drunk as a fiddler. When he got home, he locked Dou E at home and went to play with his friends. Dou E was not rescued, hungry and thirsty, and finally starved to death at home. Her body was thrown into the Han River.

Dou E's ghost cannot be avenged. Every full moon night, they will emerge from the Han River and cry bitterly. Later, her grievances were circulated by literati and became folklore.
