Zhu Yuanzhang's Influence on Literature in the Early Ming Dynasty
In the history of literature, the so-called literature in the early Ming Dynasty refers to the period from the founding of the People's Republic of China to the period of Emperor Jianwen, mainly the Hongwu period in Ming Taizu. On the one hand, Zhu Yuanzhang recuperated, on the other hand, he strengthened his ideological rule, which had a great influence on literature. Poetry in the early Ming Dynasty reflected this tendency. Compared with the Tang and Song Dynasties, the poems in the early Ming Dynasty didn't have those outspoken works, but continued the prosperous writing style of the Yuan Dynasty and served the real politics. Representative writers are Song Lian and Liu Ji, who wrote many articles for embellishment. At this time, two books, Romance of the Three Kingdoms and Water Margin, were also produced, which was related to the social environment at that time.
