Ji Shunwei was born in a wealthy family, and the family's Ertiantang pharmaceutical factory runs pharmaceutical business. In his early years, he obtained a master's degree in economics from Barani University in the United States, and returned to Hong Kong from the United States after graduation 1956. The second heaven printing factory founded by his family decided to publish a newspaper because the printing press was not fully utilized. 1960, Ji Shunwai's brother Wei Jize founded Tiantian Daily and South China Evening News, and Ji Shunwai was the president. At that time, "Daily Daily" claimed to be the first color offset printing newspaper in the world, and its sales volume was once good. 1977, the Webster family sold the Daily to Liu Tianjiu for HK$10.6 million.
