Qixia temple, located at the west foot of Putuo Mountain in Guilin, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, originated from Qixia Cave named after Tan Qian, a monk of Sui Dynasty, moved to Guilin. This temple was built in the Tang Dynasty.
During the reign of Wu Zonghui, the imperial edict destroyed the Buddha, and qixia temple was not spared. In Yuan Dynasty 17, the holistic view of Tang Taoist was rebuilt, and it was changed to Shoufo Temple in the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty.
In the eighth year of Shunzhi in Qing Dynasty, the monks of Chu lived in seclusion for 33 years, and the four parties raised funds to restore qixia temple on the basis of the first Buddhist temple, making it a famous Buddhist temple in southwest China. Later, in the name of Qing Dynasty and the people, the sense of staying behind was rebuilt many times in qixia temple, and it was seriously damaged again in the war.
