Thirdly, the Taohualing beside the Feng Fei Pavilion in Beifeng is very windy.
Hot to find a fan, cold to beauty, welcome nightingale.
This is a poem written by Chairman Mao in Hangzhou in June, "Looking at the Mountain with Five Laws" 1959 1 1. After it was published in the 1980s, everyone said that Chairman Mao's poems were a praise of the lakes and mountains in Hangzhou. Literally, it is beyond reproach and acceptable. In fact, the chairman is criticizing our safety work. The chairman was very dissatisfied with our separation from the masses in the security work and made a serious criticism of writing poems.
The third chairman went to Beifeng when he first came to Hangzhou. According to the president's habit of not going back, we climbed up from the front and east and west sides of the North Peak respectively, and then descended from different directions. Why was the chairman particularly interested in Beifeng and went there three times in a row? My analysis is that Beifeng is the highest mountain in the suburbs of Hangzhou, and Chairman likes to climb high and look far, standing on the top of Beifeng, with mountains and lakes, empty mountains, rolling rivers and vast smoke waves. Madam President, the poet's temperament, his feelings about this landscape are definitely different from ordinary people.
There is a legend in the society that some tabloids used to catch wind and shadow, saying that the chairman drew a sign in a temple in Beifeng, saying that he looked like an emperor. That's a fabrication. I clearly remember that the first time I accompanied the Chairman to Beifeng, I went from the front of Beifeng, that is, behind Lingyin, to Taoguang Temple in Tianzhu, followed by CoCo Lee and Mao Yuanxin. At that time, they were all children, and they were curious about the lottery fortune-telling of Tianzhu Temple. The chairman is sweating because it is very hot on the mountain. Mao Yuanxin and CoCo Lee came to tell the chairman that many people draw lots to tell fortune in the temple. The chairman said it was a superstitious activity, and you won't see it when you grow up. You can try it if you like, but you won't experience it in a few years. The chairman's words mean that with the deepening of the socialist revolution, this feudal superstition activity may soon disappear. He exposed children to this kind of thing as a life experience.
Another interesting thing is that Gao Gangyu, then vice chairman of the Central Committee, came to Hangzhou in June 1953. When I accompanied him to Huang Yu, he really drew lots at Huang Yu Temple. That's a sign of the upper class that he is a rich man. He felt very happy. But in less than a year, because Gao Rao's anti-party plot was exposed, he soon died of the people and became a sinner in history.
The second time I went to Beifeng, I went up the mountain from Yuquan via Fenglaiting and crossed Taohualing. It was very late when I came down in the direction of living, and I saw smoke everywhere. It's time for farmers to light a fire and cook. We went down the mountain and passed a farmhouse, only to find the gate closed and empty. Although I knew this situation in advance, I still felt a little contradictory and uneasy at this time. When the chairman goes out, he should not only ensure absolute safety, but also be able to contact the masses. How to handle the relationship well, we have been working hard and exploring, but it is still far from the requirements of the chairman. The chairman and we stood under some big pine trees beside the farmhouse to have a rest. Pine and fir trees grow tall and straight, have large crowns and do not shed leaves in winter. In spring, new leaves grow and old leaves fall. When the wind blows, the leaves fall in succession. The chairman stood quietly under the tree as if thinking about something. I am going to be criticized by the chairman. At this moment, suddenly a big rooster jumped out from behind the house. He is not afraid of people and walks towards us. At this time, the chairman smiled and said to me: "Director, Director, you have controlled the masses, but you can't control the rooster. Is this cock not listening to you, or can't you control it? We came here, no one welcomed us, and a rooster welcomed us! "
The chairman criticized us in this funny way and expressed dissatisfaction with the safety work being divorced from the masses.
The chairman went to Beifeng for the third time, leaving Laodongyue behind. The road is paved with stone slabs, which is very old and broken. The road is full of weeds, but it is steep, and there are no trees on either side. It was mid-March, the weather was fine and the air was a little stuffy. He sweated slightly when climbing the mountain. The chairman uncovered his clothes and held a fan in his hand. Because the domestic class struggle was very sharp and complicated at that time, and Zhejiang was Chiang Kai-shek's lair, the enemy's sabotage activities were frequent. The Central Committee instructed the public security organs to be vigilant against the destruction and interference of class enemies. So we are also very careful about the chairman's security work. For the sake of safety, we have made full preparations for the places where the chairman's activities pass. Before going up the mountain that day, we sent people to evacuate and control tourists in advance. The chairman didn't see the crowd all the way. He was very unhappy and said nothing. I guess the song "Looking at the Mountain with Five Laws" that day was written by heart.
The chairman wrote in the poem, "Go to the North Peak three times, and Hangzhou will look at the sky", which means that he went to the North Peak three times and looked at a city in Hangzhou from a distance, but he didn't see the people in Hangzhou. On the North Peak, he only saw "the trees beside Feng Fei Pavilion" and the wind in Taohualing. Fenglai Pavilion and Taohualing, formerly known as Fengfei Pavilion and Taoyuan Ridge, were renamed by Chairman in his poems. These places were originally places where people came and went to rest, but at this time, the masses were no longer visible. The phrase "looking for a fan in the heat and looking for beauty in the cold" means that the West Lake in Hangzhou is more beautiful when winter goes and spring comes. He remembers that when he went to Beifeng the next day, he rested under a big pine tree and fir tree, and the spring breeze blew. "Under the floating nest, the nighthawk is welcome." Next to the farmhouse with the closed door, only a big rooster came to meet him. From this, the chairman felt that a leader and a leading cadre of the party, from real life to thoughts and feelings, would have what kind of results if they could not be close to the masses, or even divorced from them and far away from them? The answer is self-evident.
Chairman Mao always keeps the broad masses of the people in mind and considers their interests. For the independence of our country, the liberation of our nation and the turning over of the people, he struggled all his life and gave everything. * * * After the Party came to power, he hated the arrogant, bureaucratic and divorced style of some cadres in the Party. When we do security work, in order to protect Chairman Mao's absolute safety, we sometimes take some security measures, such as evacuating, controlling or even clearing the crowd in the place where he was arranged to go, so that the chairman can't meet, contact and understand their thoughts and demands at any time. This made the chairman feel very dissatisfied. Criticized us several times. He also said that the relationship between our party and the masses is the relationship between fish and water, divorced from the masses, just as fish cannot live without water. Our leading cadres and the masses are equal, not superior, and cannot be divorced from the masses, let alone oppress them. There are issues of position and feelings here. We * * * party member should always bear in mind that we must never make this mistake.
Chairman Mao never forgets to educate comrades who work beside him. Stay with the chairman and listen to his daily conversation. No matter what you catch, he will lead to a profound truth, so that you can unconsciously accept his indoctrination. I remember it was the second day after the chairman came to Hangzhou, and he asked me to go out for a walk. I accompanied him to Yun Qi, where Comrade Chen Yun later wrote the inscription "Bamboo Trail in Yun Qi". We walked from the entrance to the innermost part. The environment here is quiet, with mountains and bamboos and streams gurgling. The chairman is very happy to take a walk here after his busy work. I walked ahead to show the chairman the way. A notable feature of the chairman's walking is that he holds his head high and shoulders high, has a far-sighted vision and doesn't look at the road under his feet. No matter the potholes under your feet, just stride forward. At that time, the road was rugged, overgrown with weeds, and there was a pile of feces in the middle of the road. I'm afraid the chairman will just walk with his head up and step on feces, and then remind him, "Chairman, be careful of feces in front." The chairman stopped and said to me with a smile, "You are probably not a poor and middle peasant, are you?" I said, "I am a middle peasant." The chairman said, "You haven't done farm work before, have you?" I said, "I did light work in the field when I was a child, but I didn't do heavy work." The chairman said, "No wonder you are afraid of shit. Farmers will pick it up and take it back as fertilizer when they see it. When fertilizing crops, they also scratch shit with their hands. What is there to be afraid of when you see shit on the road? " What the chairman said was a very ordinary little thing, like joking with everyone, but it was meaningful. He never forgets the working people, and takes every opportunity to educate us to keep the true colors of the revolution, never forget our roots and never be divorced from the people.
I remember that once the chairman didn't sleep well for another night and proposed to climb the mountain. We are going to climb the Jade Emperor Mountain. At that time, there was a sliding pole at the foot of Yuhuang Mountain, which was for tourists to ride. The chairman has climbed so many mountains in Hangzhou that he never refuses to ride in a sedan chair. The chairman didn't want to ride in a sedan chair, so we quietly transferred two horses from the garrison. Halfway up, the chairman was tired and asked him to ride up the hill. The chairman saw two horses behind him and asked what they were for. Knowing our intention, I was very unhappy, saying that climbing the mountain would require the troops to adjust their horses. It's like what, and ordered us to send the horse back immediately.
The chairman does not climb mountains in a sedan chair, and the old comrades of the Central Committee never climb mountains in a sedan chair when they come to Hangzhou. I remember Chairman Mao specifically asking for instructions on this matter. He said that old comrades should take a rest and climb slowly instead of riding in a sedan chair. Going up the mountain in a sedan chair will have a bad influence on the masses.
Soon, Yuhuangshan's sedan chair for downloading tourists up the mountain was banned by Hangzhou Garden Management Department.
The chairman is a leader loved and admired by the people of the whole country, but he regards himself as an ordinary member of the people.
