Is Yangming Mountain in Taiwan Province Province to commemorate Wang Yangming, a great scholar in Ming Dynasty?

Yangmingshan was originally named Cao Shan. According to the county records of Taiwan Province Province, "Cao Shan was named after being rich in thatch". It refers to Datun Mountain, Qixing Mountain, Shamao Mountain and the mountainous areas around Xiao Guanyin, not just a certain peak. The origin of the name Therefore, in the Qing Dynasty, the government was worried that thieves would hide in the forest and steal sulfur, so they put it in Yamakaji regularly, so that only five-section awns could grow in the whole mountainous area.

1950, in memory of Wang Yangming, a scholar in the Ming Dynasty, Jiang Zhongzheng renamed the original Caoshan Mountain as Yangmingshan, the mountainous areas around Datun Mountain, Qixing Mountain, Shamao Mountain and Xiao Guanyin.

This is the origin of the name of Yangmingshan, and it is indeed to commemorate Mr. Wang Yangming.
