Volleyball rules

Volleyball rules include court and team, goal, serving, passing and attacking, receiving and defending, rotation, foul and foul, winning rules and so on.

1, stadium and team

The indoor volleyball court is rectangular and consists of two parallel sideline lines and two parallel attack lines. The distance between the sideline is 9 meters, and the distance from the attack line to the sideline is 3 meters.

Each team consists of six players, three of whom stand in the front row and three in the back row. Each team can have substitutes.

2. Objectives

The goal of the team is to hit the ball over the net and land on the opponent's court, and prevent the opponent from returning the ball successfully. Scores are calculated by the ball landing on the opponent's court or the opponent's foul.

Step 3 start serving

At the beginning of the game, the referee designates one side to serve, usually by grabbing coins, drawing lots or taking turns. The server stands behind the service line and hits the ball to the opponent's court. When serving, the ball must be released from the palm of your hand, and a variety of service techniques can be used, such as floating service, jumping service or spiking.

4. Passing and attacking

After one side receives the service from the other side, the team needs to pass the ball to keep it in the air and prepare for the attack. There are usually two ways to pass the ball: spike (hitting the ball to the opponent's court) or pass (passing the ball to the attacker). Teams usually use a variety of passing and attacking techniques to confuse each other.

When attacking, the players in the front row can take off from the attack line and hit the ball hard. The players in the back row can only take off behind or on the attack line but can't cross the attack line.

5. Receiving and defending

When the opponent serves, the receiver should quickly catch the ball and pass it to the attacker or counterattack. The key to receiving the serve is to pass the ball to the attacker steadily to ensure the smooth progress of the attack.

Defense refers to the defensive measures taken by the team when the opponent attacks, including trying to stop the opponent's attack and counterattack. Defenders need to move flexibly, react quickly, try to block the opponent's attack or make effective saves.

Step 6 rotate

Every time the team gets the right to serve, it needs to rotate its position clockwise. This means that the order of players' positions on the court will change, and each player must rotate according to the prescribed position.

7, violations and fouls

Volleyball has a series of violations and foul rules, such as touching the net, touching the ball twice in a row, crossing the center line with your feet and so on. Violations and fouls will result in the opponent scoring or reserving the right to serve.

8, the winning rule

Usually indoor volleyball matches adopt the best of three sets, that is, the team that wins two sets first wins. The upper limit of scoring in each game is usually 25 points (it may be raised to 15 points if the tiebreaker is needed in the fifth game), and it must be two points more than the opponent.

Beach volleyball usually adopts the best of three games, and the score of each game is limited to 2 1 minute, and it must be two points more than the opponent.
