According to Article 13 of the competition rules of the National Workers' Games, the 800-meter race is conducted by combining the preliminary round with the final round. The preliminaries will be conducted in groups with no more than 8 people in each group, and the starting order will be determined according to the lottery results. The preliminary results are scored according to the ranking, and the top players advance to the final. The finalists rank the starting order according to the preliminary results, and the first one ranks higher.
The purpose of the preliminaries is to screen out the best players, let them enter the finals and compete for a better ranking.
