Olympic cycling competition classification

Cycling in the Olympic Games is divided into three categories: track race, road race and cross-country race.

track

The perimeter of the runway is 400 meters, 250 meters and 333.33 meters, of which 333.33 meters is an international standard venue. The runway is 5 ~ 9 meters wide, and the curve slope is 25 ~ 45 degrees. The bicycle used should be a dead flywheel, and it is not allowed to install a speed change device and brakes. Olympic events include chase, time trial, scoring and the first game.

Chasing competition is divided into individual competition and team competition. ① At the start of the individual pursuit race, two athletes are located at the starting line and the finishing line in the middle of the runway, starting at the same time and chasing each other. Within the specified distance, if the athletes behind catch up with or side by side with the athletes in front, and are eliminated by the pursuers or side by side, and are not forced to go up, the time to reach the finish line will determine the outcome. The winner takes part in the next round of competition. ② Four athletes from each team participated in the team chase. In the competition, the athletes keep a distance of about 1 m, stand in a trapezoidal team, and at the same time start the gun. For example, the third athlete of one team catches up with or ties up with the third athlete of another team, and the team that catches up or ties up is forced to be eliminated. If you don't catch up, the ranking will be judged by the result of the third athlete of each team reaching the finish line. Three athletes from each team must reach the finish line to calculate the results. At present, there are men's 4000m individual chase (included in 1964), 4000m team chase (included in 1920) and women's 3000m individual chase (included in 1992) in the Olympic Games.

During the competition, athletes start at the same starting point and draw lots to decide the starting order. The first foul delayed five people from starting again, and the second foul disqualified them. The ranking is judged according to each athlete's performance at the finish line, with the best ranked first. If the scores are equal, the rankings are tied. Only the men's 1000 meter time trial was set up in the Olympic Games, and 1928 was listed as an event.

The scoring competition is also called the points competition. Draw lots before the game to arrange the order and designate riders. In the race, the rider leads the rider to run a lap. When he reached the starting line, the starter fired his gun and the race officially began. Every five laps, the top four students will be graded.
