Liu Jieshi's dream of ghosts and gods

Liu Jieshi was once the secretariat of Shaanxi Province, and later transferred to Jiangnan. On his way to his post, he passed through Suzhou City and spent the night on Tiger Hill. At about two o'clock that night, he had a ghost dream. He dreamed that he was driving back to Shaanxi in a breeze, but he met a ghost on the road and followed him closely. This ghost is three feet long, with a captive face and an ugly and ferocious appearance. Liu Jieshi struggled with ghosts. Ghost, an illusion that a person seems to have no shape, was firmly grasped by Liu Jieshi and put under his arm. Liu Jieshi is going to put the ghost into the river and throw it into the river. However, at this moment, an acquaintance passed by and saw this scene. He suggested to Liu Jieshi that it is better to send the ghost to the temple and let Guanyin handle it.

Liu Jieshi came to the temple and met Guanyin, asking him to punish the ghost he caught, but he didn't expect Guanyin to let him immediately send the ghost to the underworld to be handled by Yan Luowang. Hearing this, Liu Jieshi quickly knelt down and complained, "Disciple, I am a mortal, how can I go to the underworld?" Guanyin smiled and said, "Of course, it's very simple." Said, and went to Liu Jieshi face even blew three tone, and then let him leave for Yamaraja temple. Liu Jieshi took the ghost to the north road and saw a hat covering the ground. He took off his hat and found a well under it. When the ghost saw the well, he was very happy and jumped in at once. Liu Jieshi also jumped into the well. Suddenly, he felt the cold approaching him. He only heard a loud noise. Liu Jieshi looked intently and found himself lying on a roof tile. He looked around and saw only the daytime sky, and his eyes became very bright. It turned out that the tile he fell was a corner of the Yamaraja Temple. Soon, an underworld official discovered Liu Jieshi's existence and only heard a loud cry: "Where did you get the smell of strangers?" Before Liu Jieshi could react, he was caught in front of Yan's throne and asked Yan to ask questions.

Yan looked at the person under the seat and asked, "Why did you come here as a stranger?" Liu Jieshi quickly reported the whole story to Yan. When Yan learned that the man was ordered by Guanyin to escort the ghost, he turned his attention to the ghost. The king of Yan sternly ordered, "The evil spirit is hard to stay. Somebody, take him back to his place." As soon as the voice fell, the immortal in the temple immediately raised his fork, forked the ghost high and threw it into the pool. There are many poisonous snakes and strange turtles in the pool. As soon as the ghost was thrown, these poisonous monsters rushed up to eat it.

Liu Jieshi's palpitations are accompanied by thoughts. He thought, "I came to the Yin Dynasty by accident. Why not take this opportunity to ask my previous life?" So, he asked Kim politely. Jin took out a book, turned to a page, pointed to it and said, "When you were nine years old, the child who stole from others sold eight taels of silver, which caused the parents who lost their children to regret and both died, because you committed this terrible crime and will soon be short-lived." Liu Jieshi was shocked, only to see Jin continue: "I will punish you for blindness in this life, in order to pay off the debts of previous lives." Liu Jieshi was even more shocked and quickly asked: "So many good deeds can be remedied?" The glittering God said, "That depends on the degree of your good deeds."

Liu Jieshi had to leave. He went to Yan and asked him how to leave the underworld. Yan pulled him over and gasped on his back. Liu Jieshi only felt dizzy. When he opened his eyes, he had already come out of the well.

Later, he found Guanyin, and he told Guanyin about his experience in the underworld. Surprisingly, a little man next to him is making the same statement with him, and he speaks it as well as Liu Jieshi. Liu Jieshi took a closer look and found that the little man looked exactly like himself, but his body was too small, as big as a baby. Guanyin said to Liu Jieshi, "Don't be afraid, this villain is none other than your soul! You are an evil and angry person, so you are firm and strong, but not thorough. I'll change it for you, because you and I are destined. "

Liu Jieshi was naturally happy and quickly thanked Guanyin for her compassion, but the villain on the ground refused. He said to Guanyin, "won't he get hurt if you remove me?" Guanyin smiled and said, "No."Then she picked up a golden hairpin about a foot long, inserted it from Liu Jieshi's left side, and easily picked out a piece of intestine. Then Guanyin wrapped the selected intestines, and every time he wrapped a foot, he saw the villain shrink a little. After winding, throw it on the roof beam and the villain disappears. Then, I saw Guanyin slapping on the table, and with a bang, Liu Jieshi woke up. Open your eyes, get out of the dream, and then look at yourself. Liu Jieshi was surprised to find that there really was a red mark under his left flank.

This is a legend recorded by Yuan Mei in Woods Language in Qing Dynasty. Stories like this are recorded in history books, which also reflects that ancient people believed in the existence of the underworld, which is a symbol of people's deep subconscious.
