As an annual city run in Hong Kong, Hong Kong was full of thick atmosphere as early as a week ago. On the weekend before the start of the race, Hong Kong Victoria Park held a marathon publicity campaign, and the contestants went to collect marathon costumes and other equipment. The Western Harbour Crossing in Hong Kong also put up a large poster at the entrance of the tunnel before the competition, which read "It's just a section of road".
The weather was not beautiful, and it rained continuously on the opening day, but this did not affect the enthusiasm of the players. Although it was raining, most of the players went straight to the track in their tracksuits. More enthusiastic than the contestants are the audience and cheerleaders along the way. Next to the runway, cheerleaders in various costumes shouted "Come on!" "No pains, no gains!" The slogan "No pains, no gains" cheered the athletes. Like the runners struggling on the runway, it has become the scenery of the Standard Chartered Marathon in Hong Kong.
Organized by the Hong Kong Amateur Athletics Association, the competition is divided into full marathon, half marathon, 10 km race and wheelchair race. The track route passes through Stonecutters Bridge, Western Harbour Crossing, Victoria Park, Argyle Street and many other famous attractions. From the noisy market to the rows of skyscrapers, from the deep-sea tunnel to the blue sea and blue sky beside the expressway. A marathon tour is no less than a deep tour of Hong Kong.
Less than 9 am, the all-Malaysia men's team champion was born. The men's championship was won by 45-year-old Kenyan Mungra, who finished the race in 2 hours 13 minutes and 38 seconds. The champion of the all-Malaysia women's team was Ethiopian Durisha, with a score of 2 hours, 29 minutes and 36 seconds. Subsequently, the semi-Marseille male and female champions were born one after another. They are all mainland athletes who came to Hong Kong for the first time to participate in the marathon.
Hao, champion of the Half Horse Women's Team, is a PE teacher of Yangzhou University. She ran 1 hour, 18 minutes, 13 seconds. Hao said that when he first came to Hong Kong to participate in the marathon, he deeply felt the enthusiasm of Hong Kong citizens. She thinks that the most difficult part of the race is that there are many ramps on the track, but the atmosphere along the way is good, and the cheers of the audience have brought her motivation.
Near noon, the last batch of marathoners also reached the finish line-Victoria Park. Dressed with blue and white arches and carpets, the whole park is full of marathon atmosphere. Many players get together to take selfies or praise each other, proud that they can persist.
