1, look up the bye table and select the number of digits. The appropriate number of positions in the first round of elimination is called the number of positions. According to the number of participating athletes, choose the nearest or slightly larger power of 2 as the number of digits, such as 4, 8, 16, 32, 64, 128.
2. Determination of the "Bye-bye" position: When the seed athletes arrange the "Bye-bye" position, they should give priority to "Bye-bye" and distribute it equally. Please refer to the Goodbye number in the Goodbye Location Table.
3. Look-up table method: According to the number of participants, select the nearest power slightly greater than 2 as the number of digits, and the number of digits minus the number of participants is the "bye-bye" number. According to the "Bye-bye" number, the number less than the number of competition positions is the number of "Bye-bye" positions. For example, 123 athletes should choose the number of 128 with five "bye-bye", and then pick out five numbers less than 128, and 2, 127, 66, 63 and 34 are the bye-bye position numbers.
