Chaodong Village is located in the north of Xiashan Street and south of Lianjiang. The village consists of Chaomei, Shanpu and Village Head. The ancestors moved here from Huaqiao, located in the east of Huaqiao, with low terrain and often submerged by tides, hence the name Chaodong. 1950 merged into Huaxi Township, 1952 merged into Huaqiao Township, 1962 merged into Long Mei Brigade, 1975 merged into Chaodong Brigade, and 1984 merged into Huaqiao Management Zone. 1994 became the administrative area facing east, and 1999 became the village facing east. There are 4 12 households in the village, with a population of 2308 and 5 members of the village "two committees". The village covers an area of 567 square kilometers, with 380 mu of cultivated land and an annual per capita income of 5,000 yuan. In 2009, the industrial and agricultural output value was 27.52 million yuan.
Chaodong Village is a village with Chaoshan traditional architecture and modern characteristics. Chaodong Village is adjacent to Dazhai Village, Donggou Village, Dongxi Village, Gongqiao Village, Gongshang Village, Goutou Village, Huaqiao Village, Liwei Village, Lianqing Village, Liannan Village, Longmei Village, Shangjia Village, Xigang Village and Xigou Village.
On September 1 day, 2020, Ali Research Institute announced Taobao Village in 2020, and Chaodong Village was on the list.
Near Chaodong Village are Xiashan Keshi Temple, Xiangfu Tower, Dongshan Lake Hot Spring Resort, Shen Xi Revolutionary Martyrs Monument, Narita Qixing Temple and other tourist attractions. There are also some specialties, such as sugar onion pancakes, casserole fish, steamed fish, braised sea cucumber and braised Mingpi.
