【 Guan's origin 】

In today's China, Guan ranked 153.

There are three main sources of Guan surname. One is Guan Longshi, a descendant of Emperor Zhuan Xu. Zhuan Xu, the grandson of the Yellow Emperor, is one of the five emperors. During the reign of Shun Emperor, Zhuan Xu's descendant Dongfu raised dragons for Shun and was named Huan Dragon. In ancient times, the words "Qian" and "Guan" were often used, so the name "Qian Long" was written as "Guan Long". At the end of Xia Dynasty, when Xia Jie was in power, he was extravagant and didn't care about state affairs. The doctor Guan Longfeng tried his best to persuade, but he was killed. Later, the descendants of Guan Longfeng simplified the surname to Guan, and respected Guan Longfeng as the ancestor of Guan. The activities of Xia people are mainly in the middle and lower reaches of the Yellow River, such as Henan and Shanxi. The capital of Xia Dynasty was once located in Anyi, which is now the northern part of Xia County in Shanxi. According to legend, Guan Longfeng, the ancestor of Guan family, was an righteous man at that time. In other words, the birthplace of Guan Jia is here. Second, the descendants of Guanyin Xi took the official name as their surname in the Spring and Autumn Period. Guan Yin is the command to keep Guan Yin. During the Spring and Autumn Period, Lao Tzu saw the decline of the Zhou royal family and wanted to leave Zhou for a westward journey, so he went to Hanguguan. Guanyin Xi, who is in charge of guarding the valley of letters, admires Lao Tzu's knowledge and asks Lao Tzu to write books for him many times. Laozi wrote the Tao Te Ching and expounded his philosophical thoughts. Legend has it that Xi handed this book down to the world and died with Lao Zi, becoming a fairy. Later generations took his official name as his surname and called him Guan. It is said that this Guan family mainly thrives at the junction of Shandong and Jiangsu. Third, some ethnic minorities changed their surnames to Guan. For example, descendants of Manchu surnames such as Guarga and Uzala in Qing Dynasty changed their surnames. For example, during the Jiaqing period, Guan Teng, the main soldier of Yansui Town, was Guarga with a yellow flag. During the reign of Daoguang Xianfeng, Guan Bao was the deputy director of Heilongjiang, belonging to the Uzara family of Huangzheng Banner.

Dr. Zheng in the Spring and Autumn Period thought. During the Three Kingdoms period, the descendants of Guan produced a great figure-Guan Yu. According to Guan's Genealogy, Guan Yu, a famous Shu-Han scholar in the Three Kingdoms, was born in Hedong (now Jiezhou Town, Yuncheng, Shanxi Province) and descended from Guan Longfeng, a loyal minister in the Xia Dynasty. Guan Yu's grandfather closed the trial and asked him the word, Shi Pan, Tong Yijing, Tong Chunqiu. Guan Yu's father Guan Yi still has a long way to go. Guan Yu, as a representative of loyalty, righteousness, courage and martial arts, is widely revered by the people of China, and Guan Yu himself is also called a "civil and military sage" with Confucius. Later generations of Guan also proudly called themselves descendants of Guan Yu. The descendants of Guan Yu are unknown in the history books. "The History of the Three Kingdoms" records the descendants who were killed after Wei's destruction. However, according to the existing genealogy of Guan Yu, after Guan Yu and Guan Ping were killed in Maicheng's crushing defeat, Guan Ping's wife Zhao took refuge in Anxiang with her eight-year-old son and changed her surname to male. It was not until the Western Jin Dynasty wiped out Wu that Zhao Cai took his son out to resume his surname. In the 10th year of Yongzheng in Qing Dynasty (1732), the court decided that the descendants of Guan Yue would inherit the Doctor of Five Classics. Guan Yu's other son, Guan Xing, was highly valued by Zhuge Liang when he was a servant in Shu Han, but he died young, leaving two sons, Guan Tong and Guan Yi. Since the eldest son Guan Tong had no children, the illegitimate son Guan Yi inherited the title and became a major sect among Guan Gong's descendants. In the Northern Wei Dynasty, Guan Lang, the descendant of Guan Yu, was well versed in classics and history and was highly valued by Emperor Xiaowen of Wei. After that, another descendant of Guan Yu went south and settled in Jiangling, Hubei. At the end of the Western Jin Dynasty, another Guan family moved from Shanxi to Jiangsu to settle down. Guan Kangzhi, a famous Confucian scholar in the Southern Song Dynasty, was proficient in classics and history. His ancestral home was Yang County (now Hongdong, Shanxi Province), and later he moved to Jingkou (now Zhenjiang, Jiangsu Province).

During the Tang and Five Dynasties, Guan surname was mainly distributed in Shanxi, Shaanxi, Henan, Shandong, Hebei, Jiangsu and other places. According to the Book of the Old Tang Dynasty, Guan Yu's descendants closed the broadcast and the word service came first. In Dezong of the Tang Dynasty, they served as the right servant of the proofreading minister (equivalent to the prime minister), and their ancestors moved from Shaanxi to Henan. During the Five Dynasties, famous painters Guan Tong and Chang 'an (now Xi, Shaanxi) were good at painting landscapes.

By the end of the Song Dynasty, Guan Hanqing, a famous figure, appeared in Guan's family. Born in the late Jin Dynasty and died in the Song Dynasty (1279). He is the founder of Yuan Zaju and a great realistic writer. Anguo (now Hebei) people, speaking of most people. He wrote more than 60 kinds of zaju in his life, including Yuan, Saving the Wind and Dust, Moon Worship Pavilion and Wangjiang Pavilion 13 kinds. It has created many typical female images, such as Zhao, Wang Ruilan and Tan Jier. These images have been passed down to this day and are immortal.

In the late Ming and early Qing Dynasties, when Zheng successfully recovered Taiwan Province Province, he stationed troops in Taiwan Province and settled there. After the Qing government unified Taiwan Province Province, many people with Guan surname moved to Taiwan Province Province from Fujian, Guangdong and other coastal areas. Now the descendants of Guan surname have been widely distributed all over the country and spread overseas.
