Table tennis team competition is a team competition composed of several individual competitions. Men's and women's table tennis team competition is regarded as the main symbol reflecting the level of table tennis in a unit, a region or a country.
Men's team competition usually adopts the way of World Table Tennis Men's Team Championship (Swislin Cup). Each unit can submit 5 contestants, and both sides can choose 3 contestants. The competition adopts the best-of-nine system (the best-of-three system is adopted in each game), and the winner is the one who wins five games first. Before the game, the two sides selected the home team and the visiting team by drawing lots. The three players of the home team are designated as A, B and C; The three players of the visiting team are designated as X, Y and Z, and the order of nine games is: 1A to X2B to Y3C to Z4B to X5A to Z6C to Y7B to Z⑧C to X⑨A to Y.
