It was the place where Zhu, a philosopher and educator in the Southern Song Dynasty, wrote books and gave lectures in his later years. Kaoting Academy was one of the most influential academies in China during the Southern Song Dynasty. Zhu founded the Kaoting School here and became the source of "Fujian Studies".
There are Kaoting Academy, ecological orchard, Mayangxi pontoon bridge, ancient temples and other tourist attractions. In particular, the ancient Zhang Bao Giant Buddha in the Gravel Natural Village is a century-old wonder. The natural ecological environment here is beautiful, and in 2006, it participated in the selection of "the most beautiful village in Fujian".
3. Mashanan Forest Scenic Area: the "Fengshui Forest" in Shuinan Village.
Mashanan Forest Scenic Area, known as the "Fengshui Forest" in Shuinan Village, consists of nearly 10,000 rare nanmu trees of different sizes. With lush forests and evergreen seasons, it is a national key ecological public welfare forest protection zone.
According to legend, Nanmu Forest was first planted by Cai, a Neo-Confucianism scholar in Song Dynasty, and has a history of reproduction and protection for more than 1000 years. In recent years, Duke Lushan, Journey to the West, Painted Skin 2 and many other film and television drama crews have taken this place as location shooting.
