The whole narrative of Snow Country Train is based on the dystopian classic model, but we can't think it is a dystopian film. The dystopian society is the opposite and contrast of the "ideal society", but on the train of Snow Country, the ideal society does not exist.
The development of civilization and social progress are not inevitable, but it has a premise, that is, being in a living environment that can be continuously broadened. It can be imagined that if our ancestors did not invent the method of conquering the night with fire, or did not invent canoes to break through the blockade of land, our civilization today would cease to exist.
The film itself has a very simple theme, which is to make the protagonist, the oppressed, resist the supervisor of the upper-class citizens. In order to reflect the correctness of this rebellion, there is no sense of human security, disgusting food, constant oppression, robbing children, the first climax, Swinton's self-destructive image of Minister Mei.
The significance of the snow country train has gone beyond the debate on skills and specific topics. I am grateful that it makes us less narrow-minded, extreme and conceited, without having to experience those terrible scenes personally.
