The competition schedule of IYPT is decided by the host organizing committee, usually from May to July. Before the competition, each team will be divided into groups by drawing lots, and each team will participate in five rounds of selective physical confrontation (selective PFs). The general grouping rule is that the organizer should announce the preliminary grouping list in advance before the teams draw lots to allocate the serial numbers, and should avoid the two teams that have already met playing against each other repeatedly. According to the results of five rounds, the three teams with the best results are selected to enter the finals (the team with the highest results and no less than 5 points in each round can enter the finals, such as Slovenia entering the finals with the fifth place of 20 14).
◆ The host country should provide cultural programs for the contestants.
Rules of intransitive verb physical confrontation competition
Whether three teams or four teams take part in a game depends on the number of teams. In a round of PF competition, the participating members can only communicate with the same team members. Before the competition begins, introduce the members of the jury and the participating teams.
According to the number of participating teams, a round of competition is divided into three or four stages. At each stage, three or four teams should play different roles: the positive side, the negative side and the commentator (observer). In the next stage, teams exchange roles according to the game plan. For example, in a three-stage competition, 1 the team plays the heads in the first stage, the tails (or critics) in the second stage, and the critics (critics) in the third stage. Other teams should also change roles according to the rules.

3. Finals
Within four hours after the final results of the five rounds of selective competition (SPF) are announced, the teams participating in the finals should choose the theme of their final presentation. If two teams choose the same topic, the one with the highest score in the game will take precedence. The order of topic selection and role change of each team must be announced before the game.

In a round of competition, after each stage, the judges should give each team an integer score of 1 to 10 in terms of on-site reaction, question and answer, team participation in discussion, etc., and then calculate the weighted average score according to the following weighted indicators of the debating role.

Twelve. final
The three teams with the highest scores in the competition are eligible for the final. There is only one game in the final, which is also divided into three stages. Each team plays a different role in each stage, and the basic process is basically the same as SPF.

If the scores of the two teams are equal, the referee committee will choose the better team according to their overall cooperative performance in the Selective Tournament (SPF). If the overall cooperation performance is similar, the final qualification will be decided by drawing lots.
2. Final appearance order
The order of appearance in the finals is also determined by the total score of the competition. If the scores of the two teams are equal, the team with the best overall cooperation will be ranked. If the overall performance of the two teams continues to be equal in five rounds, the order of appearance will be decided by drawing lots. The higher the total score in the competition, the lower the order of the sixth play.
Thirteen. IYPT final ranking
The students of the final winning team will get the first prize and the gold medal.
If two or three teams achieve the same results in the final, the team with the highest TSP wins, the other two teams that enter the final both win the second place, and the participating students win the silver medal; Bronze medals are awarded to the top 50% students of all participating teams (except the three teams that entered the finals); All the other students have obtained the certificate of participation, and the team ranking determines the level of the team leader's certificate of honor.
After the new rules of 20 14 are changed, all the teams entering the finals will win the gold medal, the first one will win the trophy, the remaining eight will win the silver medal, and half of the participating teams will win the bronze medal, without individual prizes.
