Tottenham Hotspur Football Club, the predecessor of Tottenham Hotspur, was founded on 1882 by a group of boss players from St. John Presbyterian School and Tottenham Grammar School. As there was no cricket match in winter, they discussed setting up a football team to keep fit.
The first competitive match was 1885 London UEFA Cup 5-2 victory over San Andreas. 1896 Tottenham joined the Southern League. 1899, Tottenham Hotspur moved into Tottenham's new home stadium, which was named "White Hart Lane" after the owner of the neighbor's bar. 1900 won the Southern League championship for the first time. It won the FA Cup in 190 1, and it was the only non-league team in history. 1908 just joined the English Football League.
