Hui 'an County is a county under the jurisdiction of Quanzhou City, Fujian Province, and it is called Quanzhou Sanyi together with Jinjiang and Nan 'an. Huian County is located in the southeast coast of Fujian Province, between Quanzhou Bay and Meizhou Bay in the northeast, and adjacent to the Taiwan Province Strait in the east. Its geographical coordinates are 24 49'-2515' north latitude and118 38'-19 05' east longitude. The jurisdiction connects Quanzhou Bay in the northeast, Luojiang District in the west, Quangang District in the north and Jinjiang City in the south. With a total area of 646.7 square kilometers, the registered population at the end of the year was 953,805 (in 2009) and the permanent population was 946,000 (in 2009). The population is mainly Han, with Hui, She, Mongolian and other ethnic groups.
