In the weightlifting competition, players must be divided into different weight classes, for example, men's weightlifting can range from the lightest 55 kg class to the heaviest 109 kg class. Weightlifting competitions are conducted according to different weight classes, with the aim of ensuring that players with different weights can compete under fair conditions. Because compared with the general situation, the absolute strength of heavy weight is great, which is beneficial to the strength of weightlifting, that is, the greater the weight, the higher the performance.
Therefore, when the International Weightlifting Federation formulates the weight level of weightlifting competition, it comprehensively considers the height distribution of different people around the world to determine the upper and lower limits of the weight level, because the weight of weightlifters is also related to their height, and the figure of athletes from various countries and regions will be taken into account when setting, so that enough people can participate in each level.
The competition process of weightlifting:
1. Draw lots: at the technical meeting. The deputy referee will lead the recorder and the recorder to draw lots at one time according to the order book of the conference. The lottery determines the order in which athletes weigh themselves and the order in which they try to lift. When drawing lots, regardless of grades, the number of numbers will be determined according to the number of participating athletes.
2. Weighing: Athletes start weighing 2 hours before the competition. The weighing time is 1 hour, which is regarded as abandonment.
3. Trial lifting sequence: Try lifting the light-weight athletes first. When the weight of the first trial hoisting is equal, the order will be determined according to the sign number, and the smaller sign number will be hoisted first. In the second and third attempts, if the weights of the attempts are equal, they should be carried out in the order of the previous interviews.
