Thunder Cup is a professional "the glory of the king" event sponsored by Huya Platform and authorized by KPL. The glory of the king Professional League (KPL) is the highest standard professional competitive event in the glory of the king. The whole year is divided into two seasons: spring competition and summer competition (formerly autumn competition), and each season is divided into three parts: regular season, playoffs and finals.

There are eight top KPL teams: Nanjing Hero Jiujing, Guangzhou TTG, Chengdu AG Super Game, Chongqing QGhappy, RNGM, MTG Tiger, Suzhou KSG the glory of the king Branch and Xi 'an WE.
