Mazu Tempel was founded in the fourth year of the Northern Song Dynasty (987). It is the origin of Chinese Mazu culture, the pilgrimage center of Mazu believers in the world, Mazu's "world heritage" and the base of cross-strait exchanges. On May 25th, 2006, Mazu Tempel was announced by People's Republic of China (PRC) and the State Council as the sixth batch of national key cultural relics protection units.
Meizhou Mazu Tempel is the first Mazu Tempel in the world, and most of the existing buildings are in the Qing Dynasty. The front hall of Mazu Tempel complex is laid out with the central axis and built according to the mountain situation, forming a main temple road with a depth of 300 meters and a height difference of more than 40 meters. From the mountain gate, the instrument gate to the main hall, each group of buildings is connected by 323 steps.
Four modes of transportation to visit Mazu:
1, bullet train high-speed train, you can take the bullet train directly to Putian Station from other places, and then you can choose to take a private car or bus No.363 to Wen Jia Pier and take a boat to Meizhou Island.
By bus, you can take the bus directly at Putian Bus Station, East Bus Station, arrive at Wen Jia Pier, and then take a boat.
3. For self-driving articles, you can take the Fuzhou-Xiamen Expressway to Putian, Meizhou Island, Shimen 'ao exit, and then take a boat to Wen Jia Wharf.
4. the plane. At present, Putian Airport has not been built. You can sit in Fuzhou by plane and then go to Putian from Fuzhou.
