1On September 2nd, 945, the signing ceremony of Japan's unconditional surrender was held on the USS Missouri anchored in Tokyo Bay, Japan. At 9: 04, Japanese Foreign Minister Shigemitsu Mamoru first signed the surrender book on behalf of the Japanese Emperor and the Japanese government, and Chief of Staff Umezu Yoshijiro signed the surrender book on behalf of the Japanese base camp. At 9: 08, MacArthur signed as the Supreme Commander of the Allied Forces, accepting Japan's surrender, and then the representatives of the nine allied countries who accepted the surrender signed on behalf of their respective countries in turn. After the signing ceremony, thousands of American planes roared over Tokyo Bay to celebrate this historic moment. The signing of the surrender formally declared the complete failure of Japanese militarism and the final victory of the world anti-fascist war.
Since then, Japanese troops stationed overseas have surrendered to their allies. The surrender ceremony of China Theater was held in Nanjing on September 9th. Okamura Ningji, Commander-in-Chief of the Japanese Chinese Dispatching Army, signed the surrender letter and handed over his gun, indicating that the Japanese invaders formally surrendered to China.
At this point, the fifteen-year war of aggression by Japanese imperialism ended in complete failure. The Second World War also ended in a great victory for people all over the world.
