Around 1900, Yuan Shikai (later the first president of China), a Shandong official, saw this stone tablet and invited Chen Gengyun's son Michelle Chen (8 1 year old) to teach his sons boxing. He taught for six years. It's Chen Fake's father, and Tai Ji Chuan is also very good. Chen Fake once told his student Mr. Hong (1907 ~ 1996) that when he went home to teach Yuan Shikai's son a few years later, he was very happy to see that Tai Ji Chuan in Chen Fake had made great progress in kung fu. He went to the middle of the yard, dressed in a fur robe and jacket, with his hands in his sleeves, and told his sons and nephews to besiege him. As soon as everyone touched his body, he turned slightly and everyone fell to the ground. At that time, Chen Fake lamented that I was not as good as my dad and wanted to hit people with my hands. But Mr. Hong said that Chen Fake also reached this level in his later years. Michelle Chen is also a very famous surgeon in China. Chen Fake told Mr. Hong the story of his boxing practice: Chen Fake was the son in his later years, both his brothers died of the plague, and his family loved him very much. He eats sparingly, has a lump in his stomach, often falls ill and rolls around in bed with pain. Although I know that practicing boxing is good for my health and can cure diseases, I am too lazy to practice because of my weak body. I didn't practice any kung fu until I was fourteen.
At that time, because Michelle Chen went to Yuan Shikai to teach boxing, he was not at home. I invited a cousin from Chen Fake to look at the house and farm with him. This cousin is not only physically strong, but also very good at practicing boxing, which is one of the best among the young people in Chenjiagou at that time. One night, several elders of the Chen family came to Chen Fake's house to chat. When talking about family boxing, someone said regretfully, "Yan Xi's team has produced many excellent players, but it's a pity that it's over when it comes to Mao. He is fourteen years old and too weak to work hard. Haven't you finished yet? " Hearing this, Chen was ashamed and thought, no matter what, I can't let my family's skills break in my hands, at least catch up with my cousin. But I think our brothers eat, sleep, work and practice together. I can make progress through hard work, but so can he. How can we catch up with him?
For this matter, Chen could not sleep for several days and could not eat well. One morning, they were working together in the field. On the way, my cousin suddenly remembered that he had forgotten to bring farm tools. He said to Chen Fake, "Go get it and run back quickly. I'll wait for you slowly." So, Chen ran back to get farm tools and caught up with his cousin. At lunch, Chen thought about what my cousin had just said, "You run, I'll wait for you slowly." As a result, I can still go back and forth and practice boxing. If I practice harder, can't I catch up with my cousin gradually? From then on, Chen Fake made up his mind to practice hard. Besides practicing with my cousin, I also practice with my cousin at noon and sleep together at night. Chen Jia only slept for more than two hours and got up to practice again. Afraid of waking her cousin, Chen did not dare to open the door to practice outside, so she had to practice between two beds, changing the action of shaking her feet and making noises into relaxation. In this way, from the age of fourteen to seventeen, I practiced hard for three years, but my cousin never found it. Chen Fake usually practices hard by himself, and sometimes he will find other uncles to practice pushing hands. But he didn't dare to practice with his cousin, because he was good at kung fu and was serious when pushing hands.
Cousin said: you should practice martial arts seriously, and you can't practice it casually with your own people. If you get used to it in the future, you will suffer when you meet the enemy. He and his cousins and nephews always push hands, and they often break people's heads. After three years of hard training, Chen Fake's tummy lump disappeared, his head grew taller, his body developed normally, and his kung fu improved unconsciously. One day, in order to test my progress, I asked my cousin to teach me how to push hands. My cousin smiled and said, "Well, almost all the young people in our family have tasted my method. You used to be too thin to push with you. You are strong enough to stand a beating. You can try pushing my hand. " Then they pushed it up. Cousin threw Chen Fake three times in a row, only to be thrown out by Chen Fake. It was not until the third fall that he realized that Chen Fake's kung fu had surpassed him. Unconvinced, he left angrily, muttering, "No wonder you are a grandmaster. You may have a secret. Even people who are far behind me have surpassed me. It seems that we can't practice this boxing without other support. There are many wonderful stories about Chen Fake's martial arts. If we use them as material, we can create attractive martial arts movies or TV series. But what we are going to talk about here is a real excuse. Because if we say something unreal and too mysterious, it is wonderful, but we can't imitate it or practice it, which will do us no good at all, and it will also make us lose confidence and think that we are not learning Tai Chi biography materials and give up learning. If we know something real, it will inspire our study, and we can work hard in this respect, which will help us. So I will choose something that is not just a legend, but something that can be called a true story to introduce.
I mainly consider whether it is true according to three conditions. First, students or relatives in Chen Fa Cory have seen or heard Chen Fake's narrative with their own eyes, and those who tell it can believe it. Second, the martial arts shown in these deeds are in line with Tai Ji Chuan's truth and can be explained, and we can also learn from them. Third, these martial arts were mastered by a specific person, Chen Fake, who can be witnessed by many people. I will explain everything later, so that everyone can consider whether it is credible. Let me give you a legend first. Many newspapers and books have introduced it, but it may not be true. Let me analyze it for you.
Someone wrote an article introducing Chen Fake and told a story about defeating "Li Sanxiong": 1928, Chen Fake's cousin Zhao Chen Pi went to Beijing to teach boxing, and many people asked him to play. Among them, "Li Sanxiong" is the most popular, and Zhao Chen Pi is not sure, fearing that losing will tarnish the reputation of Chen Taiji. So, I wrote to ask Chen to come to Beijing quickly. When Chen Fake arrived in Beijing, the first thing he did was to ask his nephew to take him to the meeting of "Li Sanxiong". It was a summer night and all three brothers were there. Eldest brother is sitting in the plush chair drinking tea, while Chen is waiting in the yard, while Zhao Chen Pi comes into the room to talk. He broke out in a cold sweat when he saw the other person's waist was generally fat and his fist seemed to be raised. He thought to himself, it's easy to say if you win If he broke his uncle, how can he explain it when he goes back? While hesitating, the other party said, "Has it been delivered to the door?" "Don't you want to see Chen Jiaquan?" "good!" The opponent's fist, like rising, hit the table, and the pots and pans jumped up and stood up, just like the iron tower. At this time, Chen fake a step came to the room. Zhao Chen pi just to duck, haven't had time to see what's going on, just listen to his uncle "ha! With a bang, he threw the "iron tower" on the windowsill by the door with the unique shaking strength of Chen's fist. The windowsill collapsed and no one got up again. The second and third children are in a daze. Chen asked, "Are they still there?" Two people immediately back like cats. Then Chen said to his nephew, "Go!" Two people and roared off.
This story is wonderful, which makes people feel that the old fake is very powerful. But once when I was chatting with Mr. Hong, he mentioned it and thought it might not be true. Of course, it's not that Chen Fake doesn't have this ability, but there are other reasons. First, Zhao Chen Pi invited Chen Fa Branch to Beijing for another reason (which will be discussed later). Second, Mr. Hong and other disciples have never heard of it. Third, I haven't heard of these people in Beijing, and I haven't said what school they are from. Fourth, according to Chen's character fraud. He won't come to the door and hit people. Not the enemy, not so reckless. Mr. Hong is a pragmatic person. He hates people boasting untrue things. He thinks that the real leave is enough for us to learn, and there is no need to embellish it. Now I'm going to tell some practical and reliable stories. Chen Fake once told Hong that Wenxian county government asked him to defend the county seat. Chen Fake didn't say the exact year, but it must have been before 1928. I have read some information that it is around 1926. At that time, China was a warlord regime, with thieves everywhere and poor public security. At that time, the Red Gun Society (a cult organization) captured several nearby counties and threatened Wenxian county. The county government invited Chen to take students to defend the county seat. Chenjiagou Village, where Chen Fake is located, belongs to Wenxian County. After arriving in the county seat, Chen Fake once caught two bandits, but he didn't tell Mr. Hong the specific situation (some books have talked about it in detail, so it is not clear whether it is correct or not). There are two more details. At that time, the county government had invited a martial artist first. When he heard that Chen's leave had arrived, he came to compare art. Chen Fake is sitting in a chair on the left side of the Square Table, with a hookah in his left hand and paper media in his right. The martial artist came from outside the house. When he made progress, he waved his right fist and shouted, "How can this be answered?" ? "Chen false saw him come in from the outside, just want to get up to meet, stand in the middle, fist has reached the chest, and then picked up his right wrist with his right hand, slightly forward. The master retreated to the door. Without saying anything, the martial artist went back to the house, rolled up his bedding and left without saying goodbye. At that time, Mr. Hong listened to this. Of course, he believed that Mr. Chen had the kung fu, but he didn't understand how it could be explosive. Later, I improved my kung fu. It can also make people fly at the touch. You know, it's just that when the whole body is wrapped in silk, the circle becomes smaller and the speed becomes faster.
The Red Gun Club is a cult organization. Before going to war, I thought I would be invulnerable and go shirtless. When they besieged Wenxian county, the gate of the county was closed, and the bridges of the moat were hung up, only one gate was opened. Chen is standing on the bridge with a white wax pole without an iron spear in his hand. A leader of the Red Gun Club rushed in with everyone, and came at Chen Fake with a red tassel gun. Chen fake shook the gun with a white wax pole and the gun flew out. Chen Fake tried to pounce again, and the club head pierced his body. When other Taoist disciples saw that the leader was killed, they hurried away and the county was saved.
1956, after Mr. Hong returned to Beijing from Jinan, he dealt a scientific blow to it. The new government of Wenxian County sent two people to Chen Fake to learn about the killing of this person. After Chen's leave, he told Mr. Hong that it was a nuisance. However, the Red Gun Society was a reactionary organization banned by the new government, and the new government did not provoke Chen Fake. Chen Fake invited Mr. Hong to teach boxing in Beijing because his cousin Zhao Chen Pi (1892- 1872) escorted Chinese herbal medicines from his hometown to Beijing (then called Peiping). At that time, Yang style Tai Ji Chuan prevailed in Beijing, and it was known that Yang style came from Chenjiagou. Someone in Henan Guild Hall was very happy to learn that Zhao Chen Pi was from Chenjiagou and could learn from Chen Taiji's biography. They thought it was an honor for Henan people and invited him to teach in Beijing. Many people followed him. Later, when Wei Daoming, then mayor of Nanjing (then the capital), learned of this incident, he invited Zhao Chen Pi to Nanjing to teach boxing with a high salary. This embarrassed Zhao Chen Pi, because it was a pity that Nanjing was hired with a high salary, and the students in Beijing were reluctant to let him go after studying for a long time. Later, I came up with a way to kill two birds with one stone. I told my Beijing classmates that my uncle taught me Tai Ji Chuan, and his kung fu was a hundred times better than mine. He has nothing to do at home, so I'll let him teach you. So he invited Chen to teach boxing in Beijing.
My teacher Tai Ji (Chen's first generation 19 19) once told me something about Chen imitation. Teacher Chen Liqing is the only daughter in the family, nicknamed Sai Nan. When she was a child, she climbed trees, walls and roofs, which was bolder than boys. Her father is one of the representatives of Chen style. He is one generation younger than Chen Fake, but two or three years older than him. He and Chen Fake were born in the same month, the same day and the same hour.
When Mr. Wang was nine years old, one day he and his father met Chen Fake on the road. Chen Fake talked about being invited to Beijing, saying that he would gather his students and some relatives in the temple to get together and play boxing in the evening. Teacher Chen Liqing was afraid that the adults would not let her in, so she climbed the tree from the back wall early at night and hid under the altar. She didn't come out to watch until the adults performed boxing. There are about ten or twenty disciples of Chen Fake. After the fist, Chen Fake performed, Chen Fake shook his feet and the sand on the roof shook off. Just when he was excited, people carrying lanterns and candles nearby suddenly moved. Finally, Chen Fake and his apprentice pushed the hand, and the apprentice threw it on the wall and fell. Teacher Chen Liqing only saw Chen Fake's performance this time (everyone usually practices boxing in their own yard) and was deeply impressed.
Teacher Chen Liqing told me about her father's kung fu. He has practiced small rules and is good at kung fu, but he is not as good as Chen Fake. Chen Fake practiced fisticuffs. He was from different factions. Teachers don't brag and cheat for Chen for no reason. Teacher Chen said that Chen Fake was the best person in Chenjiagou village at that time. And said that from Chen Changxing to Chen Fake, their generation is very good at kung fu and has a very good personality! Teacher Hong was in poor health when he was young. 1920 was introduced by neighbors and studied Wu-style Tai Ji Chuan with Mr. Liu. Mr. Liu is a disciple of Wu (1870 ~ 1942), the master of Wu Pai, Tai Ji Chuan. He has studied Wu Pai for more than 30 years and is very famous in Beijing. Liu was about 50 years old and worked as the director of the telegraph office in Beijing. Twenty or thirty students come to his house to practice boxing every morning. Mr. Liu studied in France. He is literate, attaches importance to theory, is good at explaining, and is strict with students. Teacher Liu's kung fu is very profound to teacher Hong and them.
Although his body is fat and big, he is very light, steady and natural when practicing boxing and sword. His pushing skill is even more admirable. He and the students push hands, light or heavy, without exception, making each other unstable. When he talks about stickiness, he often makes students stand firm. He held out his palm and shook it hard. Before his palm reached his chest, he immediately closed it slightly, and the students leaned forward and stood unsteadily, as if they were attracted. This is his clever use of the students' reaction.
Teacher Liu advocates that the slower you practice boxing, the better. The deeper your kung fu, the slower you practice. 1982, Mr. Hong met Ma Yueliang (190 1 ~ 1998) in Shanghai. When talking about Mr. Liu, he said that he and Mr. Liu knew each other and were fellow students. Teacher Hong joked that I should call you uncle, and Ma smiled.
About half a year after Mr. Hong practiced Wu Shi, they read a news in a Beijing newspaper: the biography of Yang Xiaolou, a famous Peking Opera martial artist, and Chen Taiji, a scientist in Chenjiagou. They are very interested and want to see what the biography of Chen Taiji is like, because they know that Shi Yang is from Chen Shi. After discussion, Mr. Liu came forward and invited Chen Fa Branch to talk about boxing with the Liu family.
Chen was forty-two years old. When he arrived, he exchanged pleasantries, took off his coat and performed in the yard. Teacher Hong thought that the better Tai Ji Chuan's kung fu is, the slower he will practice. He is going to spend an hour or two watching this famous performance. I know I've only practiced for more than ten minutes after two punches. Not only did I move fast, but I kept shaking my feet and jumping with the wind to punch, which scared Mr. Hong and them. After Chen's pretentious performance, he sat down and left. As soon as he left, the students talked loudly: Taiji should walk like a cat, and its strength should be like spinning silk. So soon, if he keeps shaking his feet and shaking the roof, how can there be such a cat? Wait a minute. However, Mr. Liu is good at kung fu and has a wider knowledge. He said: "Although it moves quickly, it is a circular rotation. Although there is a lot of energy, it is very loose. From the point of view of the arm, the muscles are not bulging, which should be internal strength. Since someone has invited me, let's learn from him first. After learning the routine, I will push him first. If you are taller than me, continue to study, otherwise, you don't have to spend more money. " So, everyone pays two yuan a month, 30 people make up 60 yuan, and Chen Fa teaches three times a week.
Teacher Liu often teaches students to stand up straight in Tai Ji Chuan exercises, instead of leaning forward and leaning back. The footwork should be flexible and steady. Mr Liu and Mr Chen Fake are the initiators of the experiment. Is learned all the way, Mr. Hong thinks that Mr. Liu's level is very high, which should be similar to that of Chen Fake. Who knows, a touch, the gap is divided, the distance is too wide, incredible. Like a three-year-old child, Mr Liu Can can't control himself completely. He leaned forward slightly and leaned back slightly when pushed. His waist strength is not only completely broken, but also his footwork is completely out of order. Moreover, Chen Fake accidentally sprained Mr. Liu's elbow joint, got a plaster cast, and it still hurt for nearly a month. Therefore, students are almost afraid to learn how to push hands. Chen smiled and said, "He pushed a little, and I didn't pay attention, so I accidentally got hurt. You are free. I just need to pay attention. If teaching pushers hurts people, it doesn't matter. Teacher Liu took the students to continue their studies. Xu Yusheng (1879 ~ 1945) was born in Qing dynasty, and his family attached great importance to martial arts. He practiced martial arts with many famous artists since childhood. Zeng studied the Eight Diagrams Palm from Liu Fengchun, a student of the East China Sea, and Yang Jianhou, the father of Yang Chengfu (1883 ~ 1926). His kung fu is very good, and he was a leading figure in Beijing Wushu at that time. 19 12 founded the Beijing Sports Research Association as the vice president (the president was appointed by the then mayor of Beijing). Wu (1870 ~ 1942), Yang Chengfu, Sun Lutang (186 1 ~ 1922), Ji Zixiu, Cheng Youlong (? ~ 1928, Dong Haizhou's student Cheng (his son) and other famous teachers taught in the agency. Later, he was introduced to Chen Fa to study scientific boxing. After meeting, Chen Fake offered to exchange martial arts as a half-teacher and half-friend because of his age and celebrity. After studying for several years, Xu Yusheng said to people, "At that time, Mr. Chen took care of my reputation and regarded himself as a friend. Today, I realized that the gap between our kung fu is too big. Just let me invite people from the Beijing martial arts community to kowtow to the master in front of everyone, and I am willing to do the same. "It is not easy for Xu Yusheng to say so. Xu's Kung Fu is very good. He knows Kung Fu, Yang Chengfu, Wu, Sun Lutang and other famous Tai Ji Chuan artists. Without special kung fu, Chen fake won't let Xu take such words seriously and say them.
Mr. Hong had seen Xu Yusheng and Chen Fake practice pushing hands, but when he tried his best, Chen Fake knocked him a few feet off the ground and threw him out. Xu Yusheng once talked about how to crack the left-handed grip: punch the opponent's left arm with the right fist, the left hand can be retracted, and then punch the opponent's lower cheek with the right. Chen fake joked that he would try. When it came, Chen Fake was about to strengthen his fingers, but Xu unexpectedly knelt down and said nothing.
Chen Fake once said to Mr. Hong: "Yusheng's kung fu is good. Although he didn't master the winding of silk, he did it very simply. This sentence is also a reminder to us: motivation should not only be simple, but also a good motivation should be entangled (spiral). Because some people or books and periodicals always emphasize "going straight" when they talk about Tai Ji Chuan's motivation, thinking that as long as they talk about motivation, they will spiral, but they don't know that they will spiral when they get into the water. Of course, this spiral must be mastered so as not to destroy it.
1926, Chen Weiming, a student of Yang Chengfu, published The Legend of Taiji, which contained four photos of Yang Chengfu and Xu Yusheng pushing hands. Incidentally, Shen (189 1 ~ 1972) is also a boy who loves martial arts and follows Tai Ji Chuan. After Yang Jianhou's death, he continued to learn boxing from Yang Chengfu for many years. 1928, he began to study Chen Shi and Tai Ji Chuan in Chen Fa. For ten years, he has been the honorary chairman of Beiping Wushu Museum and a celebrity in the martial arts field. 1963 co-authored the book Chen Shi Tai Ji Chuan with Gu, which had a great influence. Shen San was the most famous wrestling expert in China at that time. At the above-mentioned Beijing Wushu Competition Conference, Shen Sanjing was introduced to Chen Fake. After the two men admired each other, Shen San said frankly, "We wrestlers don't understand Tai Ji Chuan, and we always think that this routine is only for physical exercise, not martial arts. What should I do if the lottery for practicing Tai Chi happens to be paired with the wrestlers during the competition? " Chen fake smiled and said, "that doesn't count. Of course, there should be a way, such as calling. How do we choose our opponents? However, I may not be able to cope. " Shen San said, "Let's study it. Chen Fake said, "Although I can't wrestle, I like watching wrestling matches." I stretched out my arm to Shen San and said, "I've seen wrestling catch it first." Teacher Hong and his classmates all thought: Today, two famous artists will have a competition and enjoy it. As soon as Chong San took Chen's fake arm, they were asked to discuss something. Shen San let go of his hand, and the two men smiled at each other and left together. Miss Hong feels sorry that they can't see the game.
Two days later, Mr. Hong sat idly in Chenshanzhai. Shen San came in with four packages of gifts, and Chen Fake quickly stood up to meet him. After sitting quietly and greeting, Shen San said, "Thank you, Teacher Chen, for letting me." Chen smiled and said, "Where, where, each other, each other. Teacher Hong and his classmates didn't understand after listening, because they didn't see the match between the two teachers. Seeing their faces, Shen San asked, "Didn't your teacher tell you when he came back?" They replied, "No, what is it? Shen Lao patted his thigh excitedly and said, "Cough! Your teacher is really good, but you should learn from him. He is not only good at kung fu, but also better in virtue! Do you think we didn't have a game that day? " When an expert reaches out, he knows if there is one. Teacher Chen asked me to hold his arms. I can't borrow strength or lift my legs. I know his kung fu is much higher than mine, so I want to make such a good friend. "1987 February, I made a special trip to Shenzhen to visit Mr. Feng Zhiqiang (born in 1927) who taught foreigners Tai Ji Chuan in Shenzhen. Chatting in his hotel room one night, he talked about Chen Fake pushing his hand hard, and he heard a bang. He put a man on the roof and fell to the ground. At that time, a man didn't believe it, saying that there were such powerful people. Teacher Feng said with a smile: I saw this with my own eyes. What don't you believe? Can you believe that the spaceship flew to the moon? I haven't seen it with my own eyes. Teacher Hong told me that Chen's vacation is sometimes happy. After drawing two short lines and a long line on the ground, he pushed the students to jump back three steps. The first two jumps step on the short line, and the last one falls on the long line, which is accurate every time. Mr. Hong added that sometimes Chen played fake bombs on students, making them roll in the air and then fall down. This is a very difficult action. At ordinary times, when people are touching, they always throw them forward, so there are few feet that can be touched off the ground, and there is no one like Chen Fake who can make people tumble. Teacher Hong can teach such a trick to make people fly, but without Chen Fake's strength, it is very dangerous to make people fly high enough, and it will be in big trouble to make people land.
Once, Mr. Wang said to Mr. Hong, "Pushing hands with Mr. Chen sometimes makes me feel sick and want to vomit." 1956, when Mr. Hong returned to Beijing to study, he received a letter from his wife Chen Fake. 1953, Chen Fake went to Tianjin to participate in the performance of the National Sports Conference. During this period, twenty or thirty people who practiced all kinds of martial arts came to Kobe, Chen Fa to try their kung fu, and one person only used one trick to solve it.
Teacher Hong said that when someone comes to have a competition, Chen Fake never refuses, but always declares in advance: If you have any stunts, I don't blame you, but I worship you as a teacher. But I promise I will stop there and never hurt you. Chen Fake said this, which not only shows that he is willing to learn from others, but also shows that he is confident in his kung fu. Teacher Hong said that Chen Fake was modest and prudent. He followed Chen Fake for more than ten years, and only heard Chen Fake say once: If a person attacks, he will fall backwards or jump forward, and the expected effect will be achieved. If you meet a real enemy, it is not difficult to break his arm and leg, and even it is not bad to let him die. Visible Chen Fa capability is comprehensive, his kung fu is also very proficient, so we can have this assurance.
After listening to so many stories about Chen Fake's martial arts, maybe we will feel that pushing hands with Chen Fake is terrible. Teacher Hong once said to me. In fact, Chen fake usually doesn't push hands, nor does it just push people away. He just gently makes you feel lost. Teacher Gu also said that Chen Pingping's vacation didn't push people into a hurry. I once heard a story from Chen Liqing, but I didn't ask the client for proof. We can think of it as a story, but it also illustrates the same fact. It is said that a young man practices other martial arts. Once he saw a fake student practicing Chen-style Tai Ji Chuan and asked if Chen-style boxing could be used. One gentleman said of course, and the two of them began to work hard. The young man was knocked to the ground and later practiced Chen-style boxing with a gentleman.
One day, a gentleman took a young man to see Chen's leave, and everyone took turns pushing Chen's leave. After the young man pushed it, he couldn't see Chen Fake's extraordinary kung fu. When everyone pushed, he asked Chen Fa if he could push again. Chen Fake understood what he meant and asked him, "Will you hold your head?" The young man asked what this meant. Chen assumes that when I push hard, you hold your head and then push him. As soon as Chen's vacation started, the young man retreated, and the more he retreated, the more backward he fell. He hurriedly held his head and fell to the ground several times in a row, which was greatly appreciated. He also practiced boxing with Chen Fake. When others push hard, the person who is beaten will retreat slowly and stand firm after a few steps. Because of his strength, Chen's fake angle is high, which makes people lean back and untenable. Through these martial arts deeds of Chen Fake, I wonder what you think of Chen Fake's kung fu and what you know about Tai Ji Chuan's high-level kung fu?
Why did I choose to introduce Chen Fa Branch, so that we can think about Tai Ji Chuan's high-level kung fu?
There are several reasons: First, Chen Fake is a modern man. Although we can't meet him, we can get in touch with many people who have met him and listen to their personal experiences, so as not to spread wrong information. Usually, we can hear many stories about Taiji Chuan family before, but you can't be sure whether it is true or not, or there are certain facts, which are just exaggerated a lot. Unreal stories, although very happy to say, are not helpful or even harmful to our actual study. For example, what teacher Hong said. Once, a classmate happily asked Chen Fake that Chen Changxing (Chen Fake's great-grandfather) was so sticky that he could stick the table on a marble rosewood table. Chen Fake smiled faintly: "I have never heard that my ancestors have such great skills. If we listen to such legends and practice such persistence, it will not be in vain. Or think that Tai Ji Chuan's master must have such kung fu. If we can't practice such stickiness, we will lose confidence and dare not practice Tai Ji Chuan again. This is very wrong. Second, there are many stories about Chen Fake's martial arts, which are more detailed, concrete and comprehensive, which can give us a more comprehensive understanding of Tai Ji Chuan's martial arts. Although some famous artists have some deeds and shown good kung fu in some aspects, they are monotonous and not comprehensive enough. For example, a famous artist sent someone forward and made him fly more than ten feet, which was very kung fu, but the way of hitting people was not rich enough. Judging from his gesticulating movements, you can't see that he has the strength to make people fly and do somersaults like Chen Fake. At most, he throws people forward, unlike Chen Fake. Thirdly, the kung fu shown in Chen Fake's deeds can be analyzed from the boxing method, which is of practical significance to our study. For example, Mr. Hong can teach people how to fly. If you work hard, it may be realized in the future, but you must explain two points. First, I wrote Chen Fake in this way, of course, to admire this historical figure, but I don't reject Chen Taiji's biography. I have practiced Yang, Wu and Wu styles for many years, and I have also taught these styles for many years. I have also met many people who have taught Chen Taiji's biography. The key lies in the specific person, how much he knows about Tai Ji Chuan, how to teach him, what kind of master has real kung fu, and what kind of master can't teach anything. Second, Chen Fake has reached a high level in Tai Ji Chuan, with comprehensive technology, but it doesn't mean that he has all the high-level things in Tai Ji Chuan. Other famous artists also have some high-level skills worth learning. For example, I have never heard of Chen Fake's kung fu that makes people fly by shooting down in the martial arts Tai Ji Chuan, and there is no special training for this kind of kung fu in Chen Fake and Tai Ji Chuan's formula (many people who make people jump slightly by shooting down may be able to do it, but not fly). On the other hand, Tai Ji Chuan has many moves to train this skill.
I listened to Liu Jishun, who is my martial arts teacher in Tai Ji Chuan. Mr. Hao Shaoru told him a story about his grandfather Hao Weizhen. Hao Weizhen (1849 ~ 1920, the biography of Tai Chi by Sun Lutang) is very famous, and his kung fu is also very good. Once, a famous boxer named Wang from Shanxi came to Hao Weizhen for a competition. Hao Weizhen said it was unnecessary. You can play a set of boxing, and I can also play a set of boxing casually. After each fight, Hao said to Wang: Your fist is very powerful, but it is too heavy and inflexible below. The king didn't believe it, and wanted to have a competition, so he punched him. Hao Weizhen shot down, Wang jumped up and hit his head on the tenon of the beam, bleeding. Hao asked the doctor for treatment. Wang stayed in Hao's house for a month and didn't go back. Half a year later, I came to see Hao Weizhen and claimed to be Wang's son. When his father went back and died, Hao thought he was coming for revenge. Wang's son took out Wang's suicide note, saying that he had never been defeated like this in his life, and asked his son to learn from Hao. Wang's son used to be very good at kung fu. He studied hard for three years and then returned to Shanxi. Mr. Hao Shaoru said that there was no news of this person since then, because he was in a state of war or died. If he were alive, he would be famous for his kung fu.
I hope more people will introduce what they know about Tai Ji Chuan's high-level kungfu (no matter what kind), so that all of us can know more about Tai Ji Chuan's high-level kungfu, broaden our horizons, enrich our learning content and increase our interest.
