Gao Qiao Town of Ningbo City belongs to Haishu District of Ningbo City. Gao Qiao Town is a town under the jurisdiction of Haishu District, Ningbo City, Zhejiang Province. It is located in the west of Ningbo, an important port city in China coastal economic belt and Yangtze River economic belt, with Ningbo in the east, Lishe International Airport in the south, Mudu ancient cultural site in the west, Yaojiang Golden Waterway in the north, Hangzhou-Ningbo Expressway and provincial highway Ningbo to Liangxian across the whole territory from east to west.
Gao Qiao Town is named after this bridge. Gao Qiao, which crosses Houtang River, was built in the Northern Song Dynasty. It is the largest single-hole high-arch stone bridge among the top ten famous bridges in Ningbo and the most magnificent ancient bridge in western Yinxi. Ceng Gong's "The Story of Guangde Lake" says that its ships have never lost their sails in the past.
