The Origin and Customs of Mid-Autumn Festival

First, the origin of Mid-Autumn Festival

1) Mid-Autumn Festival originated from the worship of the moon in ancient times and has a long history. The word "Mid-Autumn Festival" was first recorded in Zhou Li. In the ancient calendar of China, the15th day of the eighth lunar month happened to be the autumn of a year, and it was in the middle of August, so it was called "Mid-Autumn Festival". In addition, in the four seasons of a year, each season is divided into three parts: Meng, Zhong and Ji, so the second month of autumn is called Zhong Qiu. It was not until the early years of the Tang Dynasty that the Mid-Autumn Festival became a fixed festival. Folk myths and legends about "Wugang cutting Guangxi and the Goddess Chang'e flying to the moon" are still circulating today.

2) In short, according to historical records, many emperors in ancient times offered sacrifices to the moon on August 15 of the lunar calendar. Because it is half that of Sanqiu, it is called Mid-Autumn Festival.

Second, the custom of Mid-Autumn Festival.

1) The Mid-Autumn Festival is coming, and every place has its own customs. But the customs of Mid-Autumn Festival have nothing in common: offering sacrifices to the moon, enjoying the moon, watching lanterns and eating moon cakes.

2) In addition, there are folk, moonlight horses, male prostitutes, Mid-Autumn Festival banquets, dragon dances, burning pagoda lights, stealing vegetables and begging for lang, stealing melons and praying for children, burning incense in Yue Bai during the Mid-Autumn Festival, begging for the moon by the moon, walking on the Three Bridges and so on.

3) The custom of Mid-Autumn Festival is passed down from generation to generation. In today's information age, we feel the diversity of Mid-Autumn Festival culture. We all have the responsibility to inherit and carry forward this excellent tradition, so that family ties will last forever and our lives will be more colorful!

Third, the legend of Mid-Autumn Festival.

Said it was the Goddess Chang'e flying to the moon. With Chang 'e, we can't help but mention her husband Hou Yi and the shooting of the sun by Hou Yi. A little stubborn, Hou Yi, solar energy shot down, my wife couldn't stand it, and was forced to the moon by disdainful villains. From then on, he lived an inhuman life of separation and never seeing each other again. As a result, the moon cake became the object of lonely Chang 'e and her husband Hou Yi's missing each other, dreaming of reunion and expressing their feelings. Of course, there are white rabbits and osmanthus trees, and people have the habit of making and eating moon cakes in the Mid-Autumn Festival to commemorate them.

Second, WU GANG won the laurel. Unlucky WU GANG, unlucky, made a mistake and was punished for doing nothing. Every day, he cuts down more trees, but the more he cuts down, the stronger he becomes. If he cut it here, it should have healed there. He knew that the so-called 500-foot-high osmanthus tree was originally used to punish him. How could it be easily cut off by him? Little people can't compete with big people, and so can heaven.

San Shuo is said to be the most widely circulated and reliable. Li Shimin, Emperor Taizong, attacked the Turks in the north several times and finally won on August 15. The soldiers who struggled for several years were finally reunited with their families and their motherland. On the occasion of national celebration, a Tibetan businessman who had trade with the Tang Dynasty presented a kind of bread with a depression. Its decoration is gorgeous and its taste is sweet. Emperor Taizong was overjoyed after eating, pointing to the bright moon hanging in the sky and saying, "We should invite toads (that is, the moon) with Hu cakes." Therefore, there will be a festival to eat moon cakes and celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival.

Fourth, the origin of eating moon cakes is a bit of a history book. It is said that in the Yuan Dynasty, the Mongols ruled the Han people, being cruel and heartless, and the people were poor. Where there is oppression, there is resistance, so there is the Red Scarf Army, the beggar leader Zhu Yuanzhang, and the peasant uprising under Zhu's leadership. The day of victory happened to be August 15, and the tool used to deliver letters was the small round cake with a trap. And the instructions of the uprising are hidden in the trap. From then on, the court had a day to commemorate the victory, as well as a special commemorative food-Mid-Autumn Festival and Mid-Autumn Moon Cake.
