What are the oldest temples in China?

The oldest temple in China is the White Horse Temple in Luoyang. Founded in the 11th year of Yongping in the Eastern Han Dynasty (AD 68), it has a history of 1900 years. It is the first ancient temple in China and the first Buddhist temple in Chinese mainland.

Baima Temple in Luoyang, Henan Province is located at 12km east of the old city of Luoyang, Henan Province. It is a world-famous Galand, known as the "ancestral temple" and "source of Buddhism in China. In the seventh year of Yongping in the Eastern Han Dynasty (AD 64), Liu Zhuang, the Emperor Gaozu, dreamed of the Golden Man at night and sent an envoy to the Western Regions to worship Buddha. In 67 AD, Han emissary and two Indian monks, Kaya Morton and Zhu Falan, rode on white horses, carrying Buddhist scriptures and Buddha statues, and Emperor Han Ming personally greeted them. In 68 AD, Emperor Han Ming ordered the construction of a temple outside Yong Men. In order to commemorate the merits of the White Horse carrying scriptures, it was named White Horse Temple.
