In The Journey to the West, why does Guanyin never compete with monsters? What is her real strength?

Comparatively speaking, Guanyin has the most appearances and many wonderful performances, creating a perfect image of a goddess of compassion. More importantly, the exorcism of Guanyin in the Journey to the West left an impression of miraculous and boundless magic for everyone.

But if we pay attention to the ranking of Buddhism in the last edition of The Journey to the West's original works, we find that Guanyin actually ranks 49th after the Monkey King. Of course, the first 48 Buddhas include Tang Yan, whose status in Buddhism is higher than Guanyin. In fact, this has caused a cognitive misunderstanding, that is, Guanyin Bodhisattva is so miraculous, why is it not high in Buddhism, even worse than Tang Yan and the Monkey King?

In fact, when we read the original work carefully, we will find that Guanyin's so-called magical power is not the truth. A big reason here is that the Tathagata put a high hat on Guanyin when looking for someone to go to the East to find Buddhist scriptures: "You can't go anywhere else, you must be a Guanyin venerable and have magical powers." This sentence of Tathagata made everyone mistakenly think that Guanyin's position in Buddhism is second only to Tathagata.

The real situation is that Tathagata asked everyone to sign up for Dongtu, and no one responded. Later, Guanyin came forward, so "Tathagata likes to see you." Combined with this background, everyone can understand the Tathagata's praise of Guanyin, which is just a cliche that leaders encourage their subordinates, but it is not.

In the Journey to the West, Guanyin's magical power is actually very limited, which basically conforms to her ranking in Buddhism, because Guanyin has never competed with monsters in the performance of exorcism, and problems can be found through many comparisons.

The first is to deal with the Monkey King during the havoc in Heaven. She asked her apprentice Mu Cha to fight first, only to find that she couldn't beat him and recommended Erlang God. As a result, she still couldn't surrender to the Monkey King. She felt humiliated in front of the jade emperor and had to smash it with a clean bottle. Fortunately, the old gentleman loved Xiangyu so much that he knocked the Monkey King down with a diamond chisel and said, "Your bottle is porcelain, just hit him;" What if you can't hit his head, or his iron bar, but it's not broken? " As a result, Guanyin acquiesced.

Then there were Friar Sand, Pig Bajie and Guanyin in Lu Yu, all of whom let Mu Cha compete, and they never made moves themselves. Then there was the incident that Kannonji's cassock was stolen. In order to subdue the black bear essence, Guanyin and the Monkey King designed to put the monkey into the belly of the black bear essence, and then added a forbidden hoop. In fact, it didn't produce any magic. When I surrendered to the carp essence, I said a few spells. Because I was a pet of Guanyin, I quickly settled it. Then Saif is too old, and the Monkey King's intellectual thief Zijin Bell can completely destroy him. Guanyin appeared just to save his mount. This powerful purple golden bell was given to Guanyin by the old gentleman.

The only time Guanyin showed her strength was to deal with Hong Haier, but she was also very careful. First, she filled a piece of seawater with a net bottle and poured it around the fire cloud cave, making Hon Hai's samadhi fire invalid; Then he sent Mu Cha to borrow a plow blade from Li Tianwang and turn it into a lotus platform to lure Hong Haier to sit on it. Finally, the Buddha's golden hoop surrendered. It can be said that Guanyin spent a lot of thought and homework to surrender to Hong Haier, and finally won with Hong Haier's age.

If we study the original work carefully, we can actually find that there are very few magic weapons in Guanyin's hand, and only one can really be used, that is, Yang Liuzhi, Pure Bottle, other purple gold bells and golden hoops are all given by others. Yang Liuzhi is not a magic weapon to attack, so she dare not throw it at the Monkey King. Water in a clean bottle can cure ginseng fruit trees, and three leaves of Yang Liuzhi become three life-saving hairs of the Monkey King, which are extremely hard. So this treasure is not a weapon, but a defensive treasure to help the world. Therefore, Guanyin's exorcism and salvation are not solved by force, but basically by outwitting.

Guanyin Bodhisattva in The Journey to the West is considered as one of the five elders in heaven and the first of the four Bodhisattvas in Lingshan. It is a symbol of compassion and wisdom. Her magic and wisdom are really beyond the reach of ordinary gods.

It is the practice of great gods in the journey to the west not to confront monsters head-on. Guanyin Bodhisattva is no exception, fighting and killing face to face, showing the courage of an individual, and the real great gods in Journey to the West are disdainful.

In those days, the Monkey King turned heaven upside down. No one made a move in Sanqing and Siyu, and the Jade Emperor didn't make a move, because they were embarrassed to start from the younger generation, so they had to ask someone to invite the Tathagata Buddha.

The jade emperor's decision is naturally wise, because the lowest level can't beat the Monkey King.

Tathagata Buddha was naturally embarrassed to go to war with the Monkey King directly, so he made a bet with him first. the Monkey King lost the bet, and the Buddha took the opportunity to put him at the foot of Wuxing Mountain.

Look at the other monsters who surrendered to the Buddha and did nothing at all: Liu Er's macaque was directly covered under a golden bowl to reveal its true colors, Dapeng Golden Wing Carving was directly tied, and Qingniu Jing was just guiding the way.

Even the ancestors Yuan and Sun Wukong symbolically blocked each other for two or three rounds, and then Gan Kun left with all four of them.

Look at the people Guanyin Bodhisattva deals with: the Monkey King, Black Bear Essence and Hong Haier, all of whom are real mistresses, and some of them are even disciples.

As the elder next to the Tathagata, Guanyin Bodhisattva naturally can't be as knowledgeable as them, and even more disdainful of fighting with them directly, so she basically doesn't make moves, and she is also very smart when she needs to make moves.

The strength of Guanyin Bodhisattva is extremely high, and many people have proved that Guanyin Bodhisattva is one of the five elders in heaven.

The oldest and most powerful gods in the sky are Sanqing, Siyu and Wulao. These top gods are powerful and powerful, and they can abuse the Monkey King completely. Guanyin Bodhisattva is one of them.

Guanyin Bodhisattva was greatly respected by the Jade Emperor. The Monkey King disrupted the Flat Peach Festival, Guanyin Bodhisattva went away, and all the immortals complained to her. She led the immortals to see the Jade Emperor, just like the first among them.

The Monkey King's three brothers and Bai are criminals in heaven. Guanyin Bodhisattva can promise them to be apprentices to Tang Priest first, and then go to Heaven to ask the Jade Emperor for help. The Jade Emperor agrees every time, so it is enough to start first and show the dignity and strength of Guanyin Bodhisattva.

Guanyin Bodhisattva is the teacher of seven buddha and the head of the four great bodhisattvas.

Guanyin Bodhisattva ranks first among the Infinite Bodhisattvas in Lingshan. When accepting the important task of commanding the Buddhist scriptures, the Tathagata was overjoyed and praised himself:

It turns out that Guanyin Bodhisattva is also the master of the seven famous buddhas. In fact, Guanyin Bodhisattva has achieved Buddhism and Taoism in her last life, which is called "bright Buddhism". It's just that her ambition is to help all beings, so the world has become a bodhisattva again.

The respectful attitude of the ancestors is a powerful testimony.

Guanyin Bodhisattva was invited by the Monkey King to make Zhenyuan Daxian medicine tree in Wuzhuangguan, and Zhenyuan Daxian was very respectful. "I was so scared that Samsung and Zhenyuan * * * Sanzang met me out of the hall together." A word "panic" said it all.

Later, the two sides talked, and Zhen Yuan Daxian bowed down and thanked the Bodhisattva:

Claiming to be "Xiaoke" is enough to show that the identity and strength of Guanyin Bodhisattva is much higher than that of Zhenyuan Daxian. The big fairy in Zhenyuan is the ancestor of immortals. With the existence of the Monkey King, the strength of Guanyin Bodhisattva is really unfathomable.

The Monkey King's name is also an example.

Other great gods called the Monkey King "Great Sage" and "Wukong" to show their respect for him. They are mainly afraid of his revenge, but Guanyin Bodhisattva is not afraid of him at all.

It can be seen from these appellations that Guanyin Bodhisattva really didn't take the Monkey King seriously.

Why didn't Guanyin Bodhisattva do it? Most of them are still taking the opportunity to point out the skills of the Monkey King and the Monkey King. Immortality, somersault cloud and seventy-two changes were all learned at Bodhi University, the bodhi ancestor, mainly in theory, but not in practice.

But in actual combat and life, the Monkey King has no feelings at all, which is his greatest shortcoming, so he is brave, aggressive and arrogant by nature.

Guanyin Bodhisattva saw this, so when she was invited to soothe the monster, she always had to do a lot of preparatory actions. In order to let the Monkey King see these details: You can surrender without being rough, so why be rough?

In order to soothe the black bear essence, Guanyin Bodhisattva became a good friend of the black bear essence, and it became lifelike. The Monkey King lamented that he couldn't tell:

Arrived at the scene, of course, also won the black bear essence in one fell swoop, which was in sharp contrast with the Monkey King who couldn't win after playing with him all day.

So is Hon Hai 'er. Guanyin Bodhisattva used orbs to clean bottled water and asked Mu Cha to borrow a plow. When she got there, she turned into a lotus seat to lure Hong Haier to sit on it, so that the Monkey King could see the effect of outwitting him.

In doing so, she cracked down on the Monkey King's arrogant temper and told him that there are a lot of masters in the world who he can't beat. Another is to educate the Monkey King to use his head when doing things, instead of blindly showing the courage of a man, it is the best policy to outsmart him.

There is nothing to say about the mana and wisdom of Guanyin Bodhisattva. Anyway, the Monkey King understood it thoroughly and made rapid progress. So in the future, the Monkey King won't be blind and reckless when he meets a tough monster. Most of him are very clever, and his achievements are naturally remarkable. Therefore, he also won a battle to defeat the Buddha in Lingshan.

Tang priest's pilgrimage to the West is a large-scale reality show in the three realms. Buddha, Jade Emperor and Bodhisattva all belong to the director group.

The whole journey to the west is closely monitored by the Buddhist community and heaven. At the forefront of the Buddhist ranks, there are always six Jia, five Zhen, four meritorious deeds, eighteen defenders and thirty-nine immortals. So many immortals watched the Tang Priest around the clock in order to report the progress of Buddhist scriptures to all parties at any time. Buddhist scriptures are, after all, important events in Buddhism and Heaven, and the result of power game between the two sides.

But after all, this is a large-scale reality show, and there is still a risk factor. Some monsters are deliberately arranged, and some hardships are purely accidental.

This is the most beautiful chapter in The Journey to the West, but whether it is an accident or a deliberate arrangement, whether it is dangerous or abnormal, it is impossible for Bodhisattva, as a director group, to directly take the initiative to participate in the criticism.

One of the few exceptions is that the Monkey King doesn't understand. Ask the director group how to make it. Whether the Monkey King's grief over the Monkey King is true or not, directly talk to the general director about the future treatment.

In a word, as a member of the director group, Bodhisattva can't take the initiative to participate in the recording of such a large-scale reality show.

Guanyin Bodhisattva is a very important figure in Journey to the West. She appeared in many books, but unfortunately she showed little, but it can be inferred that Guanyin Bodhisattva is no better than the Monkey King.

Guanyin Bodhisattva appeared when the Monkey King made a scene in the Heavenly Palace, and sent her big disciple Mu Shu to spy on the military situation.

After only fifty or sixty rounds, Mubi and the Monkey King were defeated. Plus, 100,000 heavenly soldiers will be defeated by the Monkey King, and Guanyin Bodhisattva probably knows the strength of the Monkey King, so she recommended Erlang God to the Jade Emperor.

Sure enough, Jiro Zhenjun and the Monkey King were fighting fiercely. At this moment, Master Guanyin was ready to help Dadong God and wanted to sneak attack the Monkey King with a jade bottle.

In this way, Guanyin Bodhisattva can't catch the Monkey King herself.

We can assume that Guanyin Bodhisattva is better than the Monkey King. At first, Guanyin recommended Erlang God because she couldn't belittle herself, so it was contradictory to assume that she would attack the Monkey King at this moment. Since she is afraid to belittle herself, aren't you afraid now? Now the sneak attack is not only humiliating her identity, but also unfair.

So Guanyin Bodhisattva didn't make moves at first because she was not afraid of bring disgrace to oneself, but because her strength was inferior to that of the Monkey King.

After the Monkey King escaped from the gossip furnace, almost all the immortals were no match for him. At this time, the Jade Emperor invited the Tathagata to subdue the demon directly. If Guanyin can subdue him, why let Tathagata do it?

After being tricked into wearing a diamond ring, the Monkey King learned that the diamond ring was a gift from the Bodhisattva and wanted to go to the South China Sea to fight the Bodhisattva. Later, he stopped going because he knew that bodhisattvas could bind spells. It can be seen that the Monkey King is not afraid of Guanyin.

"I never dared to fight," Monkey said. "I asked master, who taught you this method?" "An old mother taught me," Sanzang said. Monkey was furious and said, "Stop it! This old mother can't sit still. Be Guanyin! How can he wait to hurt me! When I go to the South China Sea, beat him! " Sanzang said:

Look at the Monkey King's conversation with Guanyin when he saw her later. Guanyin thinks that no one can control the Monkey King without a diamond ring, fearing that he would cheat the sky and make trouble like that.

Therefore, there are various signs in The Journey to the West that Guanyin Bodhisattva is no match for the Monkey King. However, Guanyin Bodhisattva has many magic weapons, so you can also use magic weapons to help Tang Priest and his disciples solve problems along the way!

In The Journey to the West, why does Guanyin never confront monsters head-on? What is her real strength?

Speaking of Guanyin Bodhisattva, we can have a chat. Guanyin is one of the five elders in heaven, sitting in the purple bamboo forest in the South China Sea, which is equal to the Buddha in the western heaven, but Guanyin is a subordinate of Buddhism, and his followers are independent of the Buddhist system and form their own families.

Guanyin appeared frequently in Journey to the West. The earliest appearance was that Monkey Sun made a scene in the Heavenly Palace. In order to appease the monkey, Guanyin and the Jade Emperor invited Erlang God to go out to catch the monkey. Why didn't Guanyin catch the monkey himself? It is estimated that Guanyin herself knows that she can't catch monkeys. I remember that Guanyin sent his favorite Mubai to fight with the monkey, and Mubai was killed by the monkey with a stick without two moves, which shows that the fighting capacity of the monkey is absolutely fierce.

To tell the truth, not only Guanyin Bodhisattva can't take monkeys, but also great magical powers like Tathagata and Taishang Laojun can't take monkeys. The old gentleman in Taishang was once pushed by a monkey who just came out of the oven. It can be seen that the martial arts of the old gentleman in Taishang is really not as good as that of monkeys. Although the Tathagata Buddha surrendered to Monkey Sun, he didn't win a fight with Monkey Sun. It was by tricking the monkey into his hands that he subdued the monkey. Do you remember the Tathagata being stung by scorpion essence? Tathagata can't take scorpion essence as usual. Scorpion essence runs so beautifully and lives happily for hundreds of years. Have you ever caught scorpion essence in the past few hundred years? So much for the Tathagata's combat capability.

It's not that Guanyin doesn't keep a straight face with monsters, but it's sincere. For example, Monkey Sun, Black Bear Essence, and Hong Haier wear iron rings. If Guanyin doesn't put a headband on them, Guanyin really can't beat these three monsters in terms of combat effectiveness.

Avalokitesvara, which is full of magical powers, is also a mage role in the game. Actually, Guanyin is also very powerful. It should be on the same level as Tathagata, Buddha and Laojun, with equal status and strength. Guanyin dares to challenge Tathagata, but Tathagata can't take Guanyin seriously. Can you do it without strength?

Guanyin once gambled with Taishang Laojun and won Taishang Laojun's. The old gentleman used the Eight Diagrams Furnace to refine the Yang Liuzhi in your Guanyin hand, and all of it became black coke. When Yang Liuzhi was inserted into the jade vase, he immediately took out the new bud. This shows that Guanyin Bodhisattva is also very powerful, but her ability to fight is even worse.

Guanyin Bodhisattva is the top deity in Journey to the West, and its strength far exceeds that of any monster in Journey to the West. If Guanyin Bodhisattva made it herself, even the Nine Spirits and the Golden Winged Dapeng Bird are no match for Guanyin Bodhisattva. It's just that Guanyin Bodhisattva, as one of the top gods in western Buddhism, is responsible for assisting the Buddhist scripture team to complete the 81-1 difficult experience, but it can't directly help the Buddhist scripture team subdue the monster.

After the Monkey King, the strength of Guanyin Bodhisattva, was defeated by Hong Haier, he asked Guanyin Bodhisattva to surrender to Hong Haier. Guanyin Bodhisattva threw the net bottle into the sea and filled it with water. When Gui Ling was holding the net bottle, Guanyin Bodhisattva told the Monkey King to get it, but the Monkey King tried his best to get it.

Guanyin Bodhisattva mocked the Monkey King a few words, then gently picked up the net bottle with her right hand and held it in her left hand. Later, the Monkey King and Guanyin left the South Sea together. Guanyin Bodhisattva took a lotus leaf and turned it into a boat. With the breath of fairy dust, the Monkey King was blown to the shore of the sea of misery in Nanyang. Judging from the two shows of Guanyin, the strength of Guanyin Bodhisattva can obviously crush the Monkey King, and ordinary monsters are no match for Guanyin Bodhisattva.

Avalokitesvara has fallen the demon three times. In the Journey to the West, Avalokitesvara helped the Buddhist scriptures team to surrender the three demon kings: Black Bear Essence, Hong Haier and Carp Essence. Guanyin Bodhisattva turned to the Monkey King for help when she surrendered to the black bear spirit and Hong Haier, and used the golden cudgel given by the Tathagata Buddha.

In fact, with the strength of Guanyin Bodhisattva, you can recover the black bear essence and Hong Haier without asking the Monkey King for help or using the golden cudgel of Tathagata. It's just that Guanyin Bodhisattva's task is to assist the Buddhist scripture team to complete the eighty-one difficulties. When the Buddhist scripture team was killed, Guanyin Bodhisattva could not subdue the demon alone, so Guanyin would ask the Monkey King for help and use Tathagata to subdue the demon.

Guanyin Bodhisattva's third demon reduction was to appease the carp essence in her fish pond. Because carp essence is the pet of Guanyin Bodhisattva, Guanyin Bodhisattva will personally go into battle when collecting carp essence.

Even the great god doesn't like to shoot. After the Monkey King claimed to be the Great Sage of Qitian, Guanyin Bodhisattva sent wooden coffins to confront the Monkey King. Mu Yi was defeated by the Monkey King, and Guanyin Bodhisattva didn't try to recover the Monkey King. Many people will ask when they see this place, since the power of Guanyin Bodhisattva can crush the Monkey King, why didn't Guanyin Bodhisattva shine when besieging the Monkey King and directly subdue the Monkey King?

In fact, there are many people who can kill the Monkey King in the sky. The strength of Taishang Laojun and Jade Emperor is stronger than that of Guanyin Bodhisattva. It's just that these top gods will respect their identity and rarely do it themselves. In the original work, the Jade Emperor heard that the Monkey King hit the outside of the Hall of the Soul, and only used the imperial edict to exorcise the Buddha, instead of doing it himself. In fact, with the jade emperor's practice of more than 200 million years, it must be certain to deal with the Monkey King, who has just become an immortal.

To sum up, the great gods in Journey to the West are relatively low-key. When the Monkey King made a scene in the Heavenly Palace, the top god in heaven didn't make a move to subdue the demon, so many people mistakenly thought that there was no master in heaven. It was not until the Monkey King followed the Tang Priest to learn the scriptures that the pet and boy of the Great God in heaven came down to earth one after another, and the Monkey King was beaten to pieces by these little people. Only then can people understand that heaven is not without great gods, but that great gods are unwilling to deal with a monkey. The true strength of Guanyin Bodhisattva is far better than that of the Monkey King and all monsters on the Journey to the West. It's just that Guanyin Bodhisattva respects her status and has never confronted goblins head-on.

In Journey to the West, Guanyin Bodhisattva does not compete directly with monsters. Just like a large group company with tens of thousands of employees, the general manager of the company cannot care about the daily life of an ordinary employee. Besides, monsters are not even ordinary employees, but temporary workers at most.

First, the identity of Guanyin Bodhisattva determines that she can't really be bigger than the monster. Guanyin Bodhisattva is the great housekeeper and general manager of western Buddhism. It is also one of the five elders in heaven, and it is a local vassal level; At the same time, it is also one of Twelve Jinxian's original works, which has a high status.

Such a high status, second only to the supreme gods Hao Tian, San Qing and Yu Si, how can she fight monsters? Second, the strength of Guanyin Bodhisattva is of high rank among the golden immortals, which is infinitely close to the golden wonderland. At first, Guanyin Bodhisattva was explaining Twelve Jinxian, who was one of the highest ranked and most powerful people. Later, the Taoist preached the Golden Body Dharma, opened the clay pill on the top, and with the multi-head multi-arm blessing and the huge dazzling King Kong Dharma blessing, he successively accepted the Dragon Lady, Mubing, Black Bear Essence, Hong Haier and Goldfish Essence as disciples. Moreover, this is open and hysterical, and there must be more.

After all, the whole South China Sea is the sphere of influence of Guanyin Bodhisattva.

Guanyin Bodhisattva can fight against the Golden Wonderland with its own magic power, golden body Buddhism and golden hair mountain blessing. At least, there is no problem saving her life.

Moreover, Guanyin Bodhisattva goes out to do things, either on behalf of Buddhism or on behalf of Heaven Emperor. So the strength and background are unfavorable.

During the journey to the west, Tang Priest and his disciples were repeatedly robbed on the way to learn from the scriptures. Fortunately, Guanyin Bodhisattva made many moves and saved the Monkey King's life. But Guanyin never confronts monsters, such as taking care of the black bear essence, taking care of Hong Haier, and so on. She always designs a plan skillfully, and finally puts a tight hoop on the other side to solve it easily.

Some people think that this is because Guanyin Bodhisattva has limited mana and has to make this decision. Is that so? What is the real strength of Guanyin?

In fact, Guanyin bodhisattva is very powerful. Like the Tathagata, she is one of the "five parties and five elders" in heaven, second only to the "three clean-ups" and "four royal". Therefore, it is ridiculous to say that Guanyin's strength is not as good as that of the devil on the road.

Then, why doesn't Guanyin confront the monster head-on?

First of all, Guanyin Bodhisattva appeared as a female image in the Journey to the West. Winning by wisdom can better show the beauty of its image than solving by force, and it can also reflect the mystery and profundity of Buddhism.

Secondly, Guanyin is the avalokitesvara bodhisattva with "great mercy and great compassion". Since she is "merciful", she can't be "violent" even in the face of monsters.

Finally, most of the monsters that Tang Priest and his disciples met on the way to learn from the scriptures were set by Guanyin. Without backers, she will keep them for herself. If she has a backer, she must take care of her master's face, so the best way is to outsmart her.

If hitting monsters directly is detrimental to your dignity, how can the gods in heaven hit them easily?

Just like the Four Emperors of Sanqing, Guanyin belongs to the four great bodhisattvas of Lingshan, but it is still one of the five elders of heaven. Generally speaking, few monsters need them to do it themselves, and the people below have been eradicated.

There are not many demon kings like the Monkey King, let alone those who go against the sky. Guanyin, as one of the five elders, rarely goes out or even makes moves, but her strength must be very strong.
