At the 1996 Olympic Games, he won the men's doubles (with Kong) and men's singles. He was also the first champion in China to win the World Table Tennis Championships, the World Cup and the "Grand Slam" of the Olympic Games. After the World Cup, it jumped to the top of the ITTF ranking list, and the Chinese Table Tennis Association won the first place in men's doubles (with holes), the third place in men's singles, the champion of men's singles in the 26th Olympic Games and the first place in men's doubles (with holes).
