Brazil, Spain, the Netherlands, Italy, Germany, Argentina, England and host South Africa became eight seed teams (France was reduced to an unseeded team).
The second team (including 4 Asian teams, 3 Central and North American Caribbean teams, 1 Oceania team): Australia, South Korea, Japan, North Korea, the United States, Mexico, Honduras and New Zealand.
The third team (including 5 African teams and 3 South American teams): Algeria, Cameroon, Nigeria, C? te d 'Ivoire, Ghana, Paraguay, Chile and Uruguay.
The fourth team (the other eight teams in Europe): Denmark, France, Greece, Portugal, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia and Switzerland.
South Africa will automatically become A 1, and other seed teams will be allocated to B 1-H 1 by drawing lots.
South Africa cannot be grouped with other African teams, nor can Brazil and Argentina be grouped with other South American teams.
