Why is Jian 'ou referred to as "Zhicheng"?
Jian 'ou is called Zhicheng for its discovery of Ganoderma lucidum in Zizhifang at the right foot of Jiyun Mountain. The "Huanxi Jingshe" in Zizhifang is the school where Zhu studied when he was a child, and it is also the place where Zhu lived and studied with his father when he was a child. From the tenth year of Shaoxing to the fourteenth year of Zhu Song (1140 ~1144), Zhu Cong studied here. Jian 'ou was the political and cultural center of Fujian at that time. During the four years of Jian 'ou, Zhu Qifa issued the Confucian sage theory, and his poems made great progress, which became a very important cause affecting his life development. There is a Guazhou in front of the Academy, which is said to be the place where Zhu painted Gua in his childhood. Later generations built Gua Pavilion and Zhu Temple here.
