2. Except for China and Japan, each country/region can only have 1 quota, and it needs to compete for the quota by participating in a series of qualifiers organized by ITTF.

3. The remaining 65,438+06 places will be produced through the qualifiers. The qualifying tournament will be held in Durban from March 27th to March 28th, 2023. The participating teams will be divided into 8 groups, and a single round robin will be held, and the top two in each group will advance. After the promotion, the team will compete with the eight teams directly promoted for the mixed doubles championship. Mixed doubles is a new event in Durban World Table Tennis Championships. At present, it has not been determined which players will participate in the mixed doubles. It is expected that China and Japan will send their top male and female players, while other countries and regions may decide which players to send according to their strength and situation.
