What are the benefits of the debate for our college students?

Debate contests are of great benefit to our college students. In this regard, I combine my own experience to sum up as follows:

First, debate can improve the ability of college students.

In the process of participating in the debate, we need to collect a lot of data to add arguments to our debate. Because we need to find arguments to support our arguments, we need to find a lot of data to confirm our views, such as relevant research data, or typical case proofs, or celebrities' views. Therefore, in this process, we will learn a lot of knowledge that we didn't know before. And turn these knowledge points into our own knowledge, so that we can improve ourselves.

Second, debating competitions can improve our eloquence.

In the process of debate, the fluency of language can be greatly improved in the debate, and our eloquence skills will also be improved in this process, because we need to express what we want to express to the judges in the debate, and we also need to set the language up and down to make the other debater fall into the misunderstanding of thinking, thus creating loopholes and letting the other party admit our views and lose points, which is of great help to our eloquence skills.

Third, improve our interpersonal communication and emotional intelligence.

I think debate is very helpful to our interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence. Because arguing is not equal to quarreling, we have a collision foundation in thought and speech, so we should argue in a way that will not hurt our friendship. All languages are well-founded. In this process, we will pay more attention to each other's possible psychological state in the debate, so I think the debate will improve our interpersonal communication and emotional intelligence.

Of course, debates always follow the principle of friendship first and competition second. The end of every debate represents the end of our exchange of ideas, but the friendship between the two sides will not end when the game is over. This is also to let the contestants in the debate make more friends.
