There are 24 players in the first stage of the men's team, which are divided into two groups, A and B. Each group 12 players compete for the qualification through five rounds of points arrangement. The top two in each group entered the second stage of cross elimination. The women's team ***8 people participated in the competition, and the single round robin system was adopted.

In the first stage of the preliminaries, men were divided into group A and group B, and each group 12 people arranged five rounds of points. The top two in each group entered the second stage of the finals of the same name. The women's group is divided into two groups, A and B. Four players in each group compete in three rounds of single round robin, and the top two players in each group enter the finals of the same name in the second stage. The first two teams compete for the championship and the last two teams compete for the third place.

Champion:

On September 20th, 2023, the 3rd Shanghai Cup Chess Masters Open ended in Shanghai. In the professional women's team final, Liang Yanting defeated the last champion Chen Xinglin and won the championship. In the final of the professional men's team, Li Shaogeng played red chess and Xie Jing played slow chess. In the quick chess play-off, Xie Jing finally won the professional men's team championship.

In the youth group competition, Shanghai Chess Academy won the championship, Jiangsu Chess Association and Anhui Chess Association won the second and third place respectively.

In the overseas group, Peng Bo from American Chess Association won the men's championship and runner-up respectively, Xue Handi from German Chess Association won the men's third place, Wu from Singapore Chess Association, Hong from Sarawak Chess Federation and Ruan Huangyan from Vietnam Chess Association won the top three women's overseas groups respectively.
