It turns out that Zhuangzi's "drum and basin singing" is a kind of "performance art". He is diluting or even dissolving the boundary between life and death, and regards life and death as the seasonal cycle of spring, summer, autumn and winter, so that people can calmly face the troubles and fears of physical illness and death and go home to rest. Zhuangzi's view of life and death is naturally great wisdom and incredible, so it was interpreted as a very vulgar story by later popular novelists.
China people have no concepts of "the other shore", "heaven" and "hell". In the words of the famous scholar Li Zehou, living in a world is "this shore" and this life. People can live happily in this world, which is the greatest happiness. But life must die, which made the ancients very entangled. Confucius said, "If you don't know life, how can you know death?" Not discussing the issue of death later became a blind spot of Confucianism.
