Shuilu Temple is located at the tail of an island that looks like a sleeping fish. Surrounded by water on three sides, it looks like an island with green hills and rivers circulating around it. The amphibious temple was originally the amphibious temple of Wuzhen Temple. Wuzhen Temple, which was built in the middle of Huang Kai in Sui Dynasty, was called the amphibious temple after being destroyed. The amphibious temple is famous for preserving exquisite and rare colored sculptures in ancient times, and is known as "the second Dunhuang in China". The famous clay sculpture group is in the last hall of the temple. As soon as you enter the hall, you can see the flying gods and buddhas. The "saints" in the hall stood in the middle, with more than 3700 "saints" on both sides. Some of them sit in the same place, some fly in the air, some close their eyes, and some spread their legs, all of which are lifelike. Therefore, the local people use "36 buckets of rape flowers" to describe the number of sculptures, and use "a three-dimensional cartoon" to summarize its unique artistic value. These clay sculptures are all over the walls of the store, the big ones are taller than real people, and the small ones are as thin as a slap. These clay sculptures look dazzling, but the actual layout is rigorous and distinct. Crossing the Sea with 500 Arhats, Bathing in Kowloon and Listening to Scriptures by Thousands of People are all classic Buddhist stories. It is worth mentioning that the Guanyin Bodhisattva in the main hall is hermaphrodite, which is also rare in China. In addition, the juxtaposition of statues of Sakyamuni, Laozi and Confucius, and the integration of Buddhism, Taoism and Confucianism are extremely rare in other ancient temples in China. 1. Photographing is strictly prohibited in the hall. But you can spend money to buy a brochure with some photos taken a long time ago, which you can take home and enjoy slowly. 2. The 22nd to 25th of the first month is the main meeting of the land and water temple fair. It is said that burning incense is very effective these days, and foreigners will come, with hundreds of thousands at most. 3. The site of Wuzhen Temple is opposite to Shuilu Temple, and all tickets for Shuilu Temple are available. There is nothing in it. If you have enough time, you can go sightseeing.
