Buddhists don't make wishes. Wishing is a secular saying. Buddhism says to make a wish. Wishing seems to be an exchange of something with Buddha and Bodhisattva, which belittles Buddha and Bodhisattva. Buddha and Bodhisattva are merciful and take it as their duty to help all beings. Make a wish, such as Sihong vows. Four wishes: endless wishes for all beings, endless wishes for troubles, endless wishes for learning Buddhism, and endless wishes for Buddhism and Taoism. These four vows were made by the Bodhisattva. All Mahayanas should be remembered and practiced.
