The origin of Bodaiji

Bodaiji in Mianbei, Miancheng Town, Chaoyang District, Shantou City, Guangdong Province, adjacent to Shiquanyan, was built with the donation of Li Guibo 1993, and obtained the temporary registration certificate on August 1 2006. Li Guibo, a layman, worships Buddha. Since 1993, he has been cutting mountains and shoveling slopes here to build Fan Yu.

Shantou Bodaiji faces south, stands at the foot of the mountain, and is close to Shiquanyan on the west side, with beautiful scenery. The total construction area is about 800 square meters, which is divided into the mountain gate, the Hall of Great Heroes and the hatchback (living room and monk's house). The "Bodaiji" plaque carved on the mountain gate is very conspicuous and pleasing to the eye. The mountain gate is very high, with two layers of orange glazed tiles and three doors. There are dozens of stone steps in front of the mountain gate, and the environment is magnificent.

After entering the mountain gate, there is a very open embankment, and then enter the main hall. Three western saints, Amitabha Buddha, Guanyin and Great Trend Bodhisattva, are enshrined in the Hall of the Great Hero, with Tibetan Bodhisattva on the right and Muyilian Bodhisattva on the left. On the east side in front of the temple, there is a "Sanqing Treasure Hall", which was built in the year of Ding Chou (1997). A "five-view hall" was built on the west side.
