The ATP year-end finals was founded by the International Tennis Association on 1970, which was originally a Masters. 1990, the International Tennis Professionals Association took over the tournament and replaced it with the ATP World Tour Championship.

From 65438 to 0999, the International Tennis Professional Association and the International Tennis Association * * * jointly established a joint event, named Tennis Masters Cup. By the end of 2009, it was renamed the current ATP World Tour Finals, also known as the ATP year-end finals.
