High school Zen story material 1 Li Ao, the secretariat of the Tang Dynasty, occupies a high position, has a Buddhist heart, especially Zen, and often associates with Zen masters. He was an official in Hunan. He heard that the abbot of Yaoshan in Lizhou (now Lixian) was very accomplished in Zen and admired him. He sent someone to invite the Zen master into the city. However, Wei Yan turned down many invitations.
On this day, the weather was fine and cool, and Li Ao took his entourage to visit Wei Yan in a sedan chair.
Yaoshan Temple is located halfway up the mountain, surrounded by pines, and it is very quiet. The Zen master was reading under the window when the waiter came in and reported, "The Taishou is coming!" " "But Yanyan didn't get up.
Li Ao walked into the Buddhist temple, but the Zen master still didn't look up and went on reading. Li Ao couldn't help but say anxiously: "It's better to meet when you are famous!"
The Zen master put down the scriptures and said with a smile, "Why do you have to be a prefect?"
Li Yong quickly bowed and apologized, explaining the meaning of going up the mountain for advice, and asked: "What is abstinence, determination and wisdom?" (Three Buddhist Learning, namely, Discipline, Meditation and Wisdom)
"Monks don't have these idle furnishings here." The Zen master replied.
Hearing this, Li Yong was puzzled. Ask again: "What is Zen?"
Wei Yan pointed to the air and then to the desk. Li Ao is more confused.
The Zen master looked at him and asked, "Do you understand?"
"No" Li Wei replied.
"The clouds are in the sky and the water is in the bottle." ("bottle" refers to a clean bottle, which is a container for monks to hold water)
Li Ao wanted to think, realized, and immediately recited a poem:
Refined into the shape of a crane,
Two classic letters from Panasonic.
I'll ask. I don't have to say anything,
Clouds in the sky and water in a bottle.
Then I bowed to the Zen master and left, and went back down the mountain.
This morning, the young monk found that Master had taken six steamed buns, and the elder brother also took six, only he took four.
The young monk felt unfair. The master took six steamed buns, and he didn't mind, but the eldest brother also took six steamed buns. Isn't it an equal with master? No, no.
So the young monk found the master and asked for six steamed buns.
Master said, "Can you eat six steamed buns?"
The young monk said loudly, "Yes! I want 6 steamed buns! "
Master looked at the young monk and gave him two steamed buns.
Soon, the young monk ate six steamed buns, and he was full.
The young monk patted his stomach and said happily to the master, "Master, look, I ate all six steamed buns. I can eat six steamed buns, and I want to eat six steamed buns every morning like my big brother! "
Master smiled and said to the young monk, "You have eaten six steamed buns. Do you want to eat six tomorrow? Let's wait! " "
The young monk felt bloated and thirsty, so he went to drink half a bowl of water.
Then, the little monk's stomach swelled bigger than before, and it hurt a little. The young monk began to feel uncomfortable and could not carry water, sweep the floor and chant Buddhist scripture as usual.
At this time, the master said to the young monk, "You usually eat four steamed buns, but today you ate six and got two more, but you didn't enjoy the benefits of these two steamed buns. On the contrary, they bring you pain. Getting is not necessarily enjoying. Don't stare at others, don't compare with others, don't be greedy, don't ask for it, be naturally satisfied and naturally happy. "
The young monk nodded, clutching his stomach and said, "Master, I'd better eat four steamed buns in the future!" " "
High school Zen story material 3 Fo Yin was sitting on the boat, meditating with Dongpo, when he heard: "Someone fell into the water!"
Fo Yin immediately jumped into the water and saved the drowning man. The drowning man is a young woman.
Fo Yin asked: "You are still young, why do you want to commit suicide?"
"Just married for three years, my husband abandoned me and my child died. What do you mean I'm alive? "
Fo Yin asked again, "How did you live three years ago?"
The young woman's eyes lit up: "At that time, I was carefree and unrestrained."
"Did you have a husband and children at that time?"
"Of course not."
"That you are just fate sent back to three years ago. Now you can be carefree and free again. "
The young woman rubbed her eyes and suddenly had a dream. After thanking her, she left happily and never committed suicide again.
The moral view of Zen;
The master of the Tang Dynasty once said: "Freedom is based on the mind, and the mental method is asexual; No body and mind, no mind, no sex, including virtue and utility. It can be profound or broad. "
The situation of life is the result of the interaction between self and external environment. If I can "live", then life can "change" and we can deal with complex things effectively: we can treat people properly and think clearly, which is what people often say.
Awakened people will not be blinded by desire, hue and prejudice, so they can see the real side. Only in this way can we know ourselves.
Knowing others gives you a better insight into everything and life will be less troublesome.
On this day, Zen master Fazhen of Dashui Temple deliberately crooked his mouth and made a look of wind and joint pain, saying to the public: Who can cure the old monk's mouth disease?
After class, some monks went up the mountain to collect herbs, and some asked about secret recipes everywhere, and they were very busy.
People near the temple heard the news and sent the medicine home. But the old monk refused to accept any medicine, and everyone was confused.
After six or seven days, the monks came to visit the abbot, only to see the Zen master wave his hand and slap himself in the face, and his crooked mouth suddenly returned to normal, which surprised the monks.
The Zen master said: I have encouraged two pieces of lip skin all my life, and no one can cure me of this disease so far! Say that finish, sit up and die.
Realize the truth through meditation
When the Zen master died, he didn't forgive himself for saying too much, which reflected the purpose of Zen.
In a temple, there lived two monks, an old man and a young man.
On this day, the old monk said to the young monk that we don't have much rice. Go out and collect some rice. The young monk agreed and set out the next day.
But it didn't take long for the young monk to come back. He told the old monk that the wood of the bridge crossing the river was rotten and people could not walk.
The old monk asked, can't we go the other way?
The young monk said, it's necessary to go around a few more times. I heard from the villagers nearby that the bridge will be repaired soon, so it is better to wait until the bridge is repaired before going out.
The old monk was silent.
A few days later, the old monk sent the young monk to buy rice. A few hours later, the young monk came back with a bag on his back.
When the young monk saw the old monk, he immediately said, Master, the bridge is being repaired, but it is not finished yet. Let's buy rice when they fix it. I don't think it will take long to repair the bridge.
The old monk looked at the rice jar that had almost bottomed out and sighed. Well, wait as you say.
Guess the bridge needs to be repaired, and all the rice in the rice jar has been eaten up by now.
The old monk said, Let's go, let's go. If we can't buy rice, we will be hungry.
The young monk packed his things and went on his way. But this time, the young monk went quickly and came back quickly.
As soon as they met, the young monk said anxiously to the old monk, Master, this is not acceptable. The bridge has been repaired to the end, but it was washed away by a sudden flash flood upstream, and even the surrounding roads were flooded. We should starve. ...
The old monk sighed: in fact, this situation was doomed from the beginning. When the bridge is broken, if you make up your mind to take a detour out of the mountain, it will definitely take some physical strength, but the rice should have been bought back long ago. But you don't want to work hard. You are lucky. As a result, it has caused today's predicament again and again. Who can you blame?
The young monk bowed his head.
Zen life:
Many times, we always consider how to cut corners and take shortcuts. Even in an emergency, we are lucky, and we don't want to change with the camera. No matter how much we pay, we can get results and win opportunities easily.
An old monk was traveling down the mountain when he saw a disheveled, ragged and depressed young man coming towards him.
The old monk stepped forward and asked, Why is this little benefactor so embarrassed?
The young man replied listlessly, I have been beaten and besieged. I just bought this bottle of wine with a few dollars on me, and I'm going to find a place where no one can drink it, and then I'll end my life. You called me a mess.
The old monk said: Amitabha! Lao Na didn't see your head broken, nor did he hear where you were trapped, but he saw that you were getting away from it step by step, which should have belonged to you. What a pity for you!
The young man stared loudly and said, people say monks should not talk nonsense, but you know I'm poor and you still make fun of me. Aren't you afraid that the Buddha will blame you? Get out of the way. I don't want your advice. I'm going to die early and beg him to let me be a rich man in the afterlife!
The old monk dodged and said, benefactor. You are so stubborn, Lao Na doesn't want to say more, but it's a pity that you have such a big fortune! Amitabha!
Seeing that the old monk was so sure, the young man couldn't help but stop and ask, since you know I have a lot of wealth, why don't you take it and tell me?
The old monk said: I once had such a large fortune as yours, but unfortunately I didn't cherish it and let it slip away from me quietly. I can't bear to see you repeat my mistakes, so I want to tell you.
The young man said with a grain of salt: Is there such a good thing? Then tell me quickly, where is my wealth?
The old monk told him slowly and patiently that your wealth is intangible, but it can't be separated from you. If you are not careful, it will slip away from you quietly. When it slips past you, your life will come to an end.
The young man pleaded, what you said is a bit mysterious. I can't understand it. Please tell me directly, master!
The old monk said: Haha, you can experience it slowly. I realized that you would be reborn and useful for life. You're the only one who doesn't realize it. This is your destiny. Amitabha!
The old monk said that and turned away.
The young man looked at the back of the old monk and slowly chewed what he had said.
Suddenly, the young man threw the bottle in his hand into the air and shouted, it's time! Old Master Q said that wealth is time! Yes, I am still young. I still have enough time to start over. Why should I walk into a dead end? Ha ha ha ha!
So the young man remembered the old monk's teachings and got the message. In fact, today, we are exactly the same as this teacher's father. Although we have no money around us, we have no chance to live a rich life. It's just that we still have plenty of time. As long as we cherish time and don't let it slip away from us quietly, it will win us what we need one day.
Each of us should have our own dreams that we really want to realize. The key lies in how we make use of every minute of our lives and their selfless efforts to make greater contributions to realizing our dreams. Therefore, the most precious wealth of each of us is time. What did you say?/Sorry?
