Reservation: Temporary reservation

Although the Qinghai-Tibet line is a train line, it is very popular. Basically, if you want to make a temporary departure reservation, you are unlikely to get a ticket. Plus 1 hour, many prime-time tickets were booked up as soon as they were released.

Lhasa → Xining: Z4224

There is only one train time from Xining to Lhasa, so I won't introduce it, but there are many flights from Lhasa to Xining, so it is not recommended to take this train (19: 00-16: 36+1). It is not convenient to go to the nearest scenic spot-Ta 'er Temple, so you can only go back to the urban area, 30 kilometers away from the urban area.

Feel free to do it.

Book 5 days in advance

If you want to book a train ticket to the Qinghai-Tibet line, you have to reserve the time for booking tickets. It used to be half a month, but now it is changed to five days. On the day of ticket issue 15 o'clock, you should grab the ticket immediately. Basically, tickets are issued on the same day and sold out on the same day. Even if there is surplus, the time period is not good.

Lhasa → Xining: Z4 166

As for the train time, it is suggested to buy the line from Lhasa to Xining at noon (11:30-9:18+1), which is about 2 1 hour, just enough to rest on the train for one night, and arrive at 9: 00 the next morning, so you can go directly to Ta 'er Temple.

Sleeper: hard seat (224)

I really, really don't recommend booking a hard seat on the Qinghai-Tibet line. Travel time on plateau is 2 1 hour. Not to mention the adaptive response of the body to the plateau, even ordinary people can't stand sitting 2 1 hour. On the plateau, the body should not be overtired.

Food: wine/alcoholic drinks

On the 2 1 hour train, people always bring something to eat, but remember not to bring alcohol and alcoholic drinks. Because the Qinghai-Tibet line is on the plateau, drinking alcohol will lead to shortness of breath and may lead to high reaction, so it is not recommended that you drink alcohol on the Qinghai-Tibet line.

Feel free to do it.

Sleeper: Hard sleeper/soft sleeper (495/78 1) is basically enough, but if you don't mind the money, you can also choose soft sleeper, because the whole train workshop is an oxygen workshop, so you don't need to worry about the thin oxygen in the plateau, just sleep.

Food: carbohydrate/fruit

Eating more carbohydrates at plateau, such as mung bean porridge, eight-treasure porridge, bread, foods with high carbohydrate content, oranges, pears, apples and tomatoes, can help the body adapt to altitude sickness.

Action: the action is too fast.

On the Qinghai-Tibet train, all our movements should be slowed down as much as possible, and we can't take a brisk pace. After all, the air pressure will change after the train enters the plateau. If your heart rate is too fast, it is easy to have a high reaction.

Tip: Take photos of Lhasa.

You can't take photos in many places in Lhasa, such as Lhasa station, because there are many monitoring points here. Taking photos will be questioned as recording some information, so be sure to remember not to take photos with the guards at Lhasa Station at will.

Feel free to do it.

Clothing: Bring warm clothes.

Be sure to keep warm on the train. The climate on the plateau varies greatly from day to night. No matter what season, thick clothes should be prepared. A cold is an important cause of high fever, so you must wear warm clothes.

Tips: Four scenic spots on the Qinghai-Tibet Line

There are four scenic spots on the Qinghai-Tibet line, namely Lhasa-Naqu scenic spot, Qiangtang scenic spot at the source of the Yangtze River, Kunlun Mountain scenic spot and Qinghai Lake scenic spot. Every scenic spot is different and has its own characteristics.
