Introduction of scenic spots:
As the hometown of Chiang Kai-shek, Xikou itself is somewhat mysterious. In addition, it is a popular tourist destination along the extensive Shexi River, with its waterfalls and streams in Xuedou Mountain. Today, Xikou Scenic Area includes the former residence of Jiang family and Xuedou Mountain. It is worth spending 1-2 days to get to know it.
The two ticket offices in the scenic spot are located in Wulingmen (the gate of Jiang's hometown) in Xikou Town and the tourist distribution center at the junction of the two scenic spots in the west. Xikou Scenic Area has complete tourist facilities, and there are green tourist buses between Xikou Passenger Station, Wulingmen and the tourist distribution center. Chiang Kai-shek's hometown is in the town. You can take a bus to the tourist distribution center of Xuedou Mountain Scenic Area, where you can transfer to the Green sightseeing bus (included in Xuedou Mountain Scenic Area, unified tickets, unlimited rides) to Sanyintan, and then you can start the tour of Xuedou Mountain.
Timetable:
If this is your first visit to Xikou, it is recommended to arrange 2 days. The recommended itinerary is: arrive at Xikou at noon on the first day, and visit Xuedou Mountain and Xuedou Temple in the mountains after lunch. I lived in Xikou town at night, went to Jiang's hometown the next morning, and went to Jiang's mother's grave in the afternoon. It is more cost-effective to buy tickets for scenic spots directly on this trip. 230 yuan includes two scenic spots and transportation tickets, valid for 2 days. If you are only interested in one of the scenic spots, you can also buy tickets for that scenic spot separately (valid on the same day).
Combat mountain commandos:
It takes about half a day to visit Xuedou Mountain. The most attractive natural scenery on the mountain is the streams and ponds of Yinsan Lake and the waterfalls of Qianzhangyan. From Sanyintan, visit the upper, middle and lower pools in turn (about 2 hours). Finally, take a sightseeing train to Qianzhangyan Waterfall at sightseeing bus West Station near Xiayintan, and then transfer to the cableway to Miaogaotai to see Chiang Kai-shek's villa. The wonderful high platform overlooking Xiating Lake is an important reason why many tourists come to Xuedou Mountain.
Small trains and ropeways between Yintan and Miaogaotai need to pay extra for 50 yuan. There are trails to walk, but it's tiring and takes time. It is recommended to take public transport. Overlooking the Qianzhangyan Waterfall below on the cableway, it is very spectacular. There is a regular sightseeing trail behind the wonderful high platform, which is downhill and easy to walk. It won't take long to walk to Xuedou Temple at the foot of the mountain. The temple is relatively new, so you can have a general look. There is an open-air giant Buddha here, which is very eye-catching and many tourists come here. There is also a green sightseeing bus stop at the entrance of Dousi Temple. You can go back to the city by bus. This arrangement is the most reasonable way to walk in Xuedou Mountain. It can not only enjoy the scenic spots on the mountain, but also go down the mountain without looking back.
Brief introduction of Chiang Kai-shek's former residence:
The next morning, I visited the scenic spot of Jiang's former residence from Wulingmen. The main scenic spots here are arranged along the pedestrian street of Wuling Road by the Shanxi River, and you can walk there. The most worth seeing is Wuling School, small house and Wenchang Pavilion near the entrance. Among them, Wenchang Pavilion was once the villa of Sung River and one of the best scenic spots in Xikou, and now Song Meiling's paintings are hung.
In addition, the former residence of Gaofeng near Jingtang Road is the place where Chiang Kai-shek married Mao and Mao, and there is honeysuckle planted in Song Meiling in the central courtyard. The plaques, couplets, carvings and sculptures inside are also worthy of attention. Yutai Salt Shop in the west is the place where Chiang Kai-shek was born, and the word "Lu Qing" is engraved on the front door. It should be noted that some paths in the scenic spot lead to the streets outside, so be careful not to leave the scenic spot during the tour. Tickets can only be used once.
Mausoleum is located at the junction of two scenic spots, which is within the ticket of Jiang's former residence scenic spot.
