Group qualifying rules
The Champions League group stage is divided into 8 groups, with 4 teams in each group and 32 teams participating. The round robin system is adopted in the group match, with four teams in each group playing six rounds, one for home and one for away. The ranking rules of group stage points are: win 3 points, draw 1 point, and negative 0 points. After the group stage, the top two in each group will advance to the knockout stage.
Elimination stage rule
The knockout stage is divided into four stages: 1/8 final, 1/4 final, semi-final and final. Each stage adopts the home and away game system. In addition to the finals, there is a home and away game in each stage, and the total score of the two games determines the promotion of the team. If the total score of the two teams is the same, the team with more away goals will advance. If the number of goals scored away from home is the same, it will be decided by overtime or penalty shootout.
1/8 final rule
1/8 final is the first round of the Champions League knockout, with 16 teams participating. 16 teams draw lots according to the group stage ranking, and the top two avoid being in the same team and country. After the draw, each group played a home game and an away game, and advanced to the 1/4 finals.
1/4 final rule
1/4 final is the second round of the Champions League knockout, with a total of 8 teams participating. Eight teams advanced to the draw according to 1/8 finals, and the top two teams avoided teams from the same group and country. After the draw, each group of opponents will play a home and away game and advance to the semi-finals.
Semi-final rules
The semi-final is the third round of the Champions League knockout, with four teams participating. The four teams advance to the draw according to 1/4 finals, and the top two avoid being on the same team as the national team. After the draw, each group of opponents will play a home and away game and advance to the final.
Final rule
The final is the last round of the Champions League knockout round, which is played by two teams that have advanced to the semi-finals. The final will be a single competition, and the venue will be decided by UEFA. If there is no winner in the regular time, overtime will be played. If there is no winner in overtime, the winner will be decided by penalty.
